exactly my thought.. we have lots and lots of fast bowlers now.. we need quality spinners.. since 2012 england tour of india where they won 2-1  only 7 spinners have played for india in tests which is absolutely crazy..not counting harbhajan who played 1 odd test abd sundar who basically played as an all rounder... and out of those 7 all are above 30 .. so we dont have any young spinners..kuldeep and axar turns 30 next year..

can we bank on Axar Sundar Kuldeep in the home series against all nations from 2027 onwards..no idea

Mumbai has Atharva Ankolekar, was part of U19 setup is a decent all rounder, Tanush Kotian too from Mumbai, Saurashtra has a couple of good spinners, Vicky Ostwal from previous U19 batch is a good orthodox spinner. Tamil Nadu has Sai Kishore and many orthodox spinners to can be next in line..  Am really excited about Suyash Sharma, i feel he is somebody who can be fast tracked to T20 setup if not the others.. he definately has the X factor in him and looks threatening when he bowls..

Suyash is in the breeding ground for unorthodox spinners..kkr.. varun C, Sunil Narine.. so hope he is in good hands..bowled decently in smat..

case study of Suyash Sharma... How the system has failed unorthodox X factor bowlers.. I feel the Indian coaching system is to blame with no emergence of unique Ingeneous bowlers, since the coaches do not encourage such bowlers to succeed and hell bent on only learning the basics.. Even in junior cricket, when it comes to selection matters, preference is given to orthodox bowlers..  If we hear Suyash sharma's interview with Manjot Kalra, he reveals how he wanted to leave cricket due to non selection even after doing really well.

Short summary, there are many many good bowlers even spinners, they are not selected / nurtured properly and are left on their own..

Think Suyash comes from Del. or near by, in major cities players are only preferred from reputed academies/coaches who tries to produce cleanest technique which is okay.

Same reason we do not seen unorthodox players from Eng or Aus.

As unorthodoxy comes naturally its hard to groom and coach, and their are more chances to groom and make a finish article by following well established orthodox technique and practices.

Unorthodox players have to carve way for themselves and make sure they understnd their body. When everything falls into place unorthodox players becomes something special or one of a kind but more than often that does not happen.

adil rashid rehan ahmed m Jordan, shaun tait , mitchell johnson, mcgill are not ur typical orthodox players, they are unique in their own regard and have not been tinkered with.. In India due to high population unorthodoxy is discouraged since it takes more effort energy and time to fine tune which the coaches do not have and neither are willing to pursue unless somebody is willing to put everything at risk and continue to thrive in harshest of environments..

They are largely orthodox- Near perfect height for their height, simple action and body rotation, baring Tait, but In Aus cricketing circles Tait/Akthar/Thompson (javelin kind of arm swing ) kind of action is received well.

They think it adds to the pace, plus he was v.tall considerably taller than lee so could compromise height for pace.

Suyash is short for Legspinner yet he is able to bowl at decent pace and land it at good spot perfectly.

Imo unorthodox player will come from small cricketing centres. As there are not many coaching facilities.

This is why its so surprising that with so many domestic teams Ind does not have any mystery bowler playing

all rounders.. none of the other front line seamers can call themselves all rounders.. and the general thinking of the management seem to go with bits and pieces cricketers like saumy pandey, abhishek murugan... both can bat and ball.. I feel even if they had to go with spinners to bat, they should have bought Lakshay Sherawat the leggie who had an exceptional NCA tournament with the ball and bat... Specially against the teams with many left handers like pakistan, they need quality offspinner or X factor spinner if not seamers.. Simple innocuous left arm spinners will not have much of an impact. Do not see any good spinners too in the current pool, they are strongly relying on batting only to get them out...

yes we are missing wrist spinner in middle overs to pick up wkts in u19 team when they are bowling 2nd and not much left in pitch for pacers..

Aaradhya shukla really bent his back today, seemed the best bowler from

india side

just saw H\L..they didnt give him new ball..and SAF was 10 rpo initial 9/10 overs..when he started bowling we got the breakthroughs..probably they want to make him middle over enforcer and also control his economy he tends to give more runs with new ball..but he looked fast..

Gowda..looked slower..may be trying to bolw line and length..need to do better with the height he has got

this is very true, but require some nuance. to replace ash-jaddu, we should note that replacing jaddu is not too hard. there are a lot of SLAs in domestics, and many can bat. here are some list of SLAs (some are bowling ARs; some are batting ARs; some are just bowlers)

saurabh kumar

Kumar Kartikeya

shams mulani

shahbaz ahmed

manav suthar

nishant sindhu

ninad rathva

axar patel

big issue is replacing ashwin, as well as unearthing leggies

All of these spinners are just rollers, none put body behind the ball and or give it revs, most of them are short bar sai Kishore, manav suthar gets it to drift and dip, siddharth Desai from Gujarat is quite impressive, puts in a lot of body behind, proper attacking spinner. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gl1hn8S1i2g&pp=ygUZU2lkZGhhcnRoIGRlc2FpIGNyaWNrZXRlcg%3D%3D

India U19 preparation did not go well, got bundled out for 170 odd runs against Australia in the warm ups, with only the captain crossing 50. They have lost to pakistan, bangladesh in the asia cup too.. This U19 batch does have its weakness, even though they would have been a force in Asian conditions, i believe in SA conditions, they dont have a fast bowler as a strike bowler.. Fast bowlers barring gowda are not tall, however if the conditions support, Aaradhya shukla can be a force, with his nippy bowling, gets decent zip off the wicket.

Aus was also struggling with 50/4…they defeated SA and AFG in tru nation tournament there..rain washed out finals..

I feel tgey can do better than UAE in SAF as better batting technique than power and good line and length bowling at these levels in helpful wkts can do the job..

but yes I am also not very impressed with this lot..

this time around BCCI is to be blamed for starting the preparations so late, no tours for U19 after previous world cup right uptick the asia cup, shows how poor they have been this time around. The team started playing together only since asia cup , where they lost 2 matches in seaming conditions. However in SA conditions bounce and pace has been their undoing… Many batsmen getting out to pull shots or short balls.. Rudra patel has been a run machine in Indian conditions, if you see his youtube videos, you would find him toying with English , Bangladesh bowlers during the quadrangulars & has been scoring consistently, the moment they stepped out of India , rudra patel has not been able to score double digit scores in 4-5 outings, that has been a big dampner, since he was the designated enforcer at top of the order like Steve Stolk from SA.. Uday Saharan & Moliya have been amongst the runs but they are in the dravid / Vihari style quite slow , blocking and playing long innings, our stroke makers like kulkarni , musheerabad, aravalley , sachin dhad have found it difficult to score…  As previously mentioned the bowlers are highly inconsistent, they have been all over Afghanistan , but they were clobbered by SA openers for 10 an over in 2 matches, against Pak, only 1-2 wickets fell the opener or 1 down scored a century, Against Bangladesh they could not stop them from defending 190 odd, shows there is weakness in the bowling department..

What kind of chutyipa is this?? Is this USA XI or Indian NRI XI ?

Prannav Chettipalayam

Aryaman Suri
Siddarth Kappa

Rishi Ramesh
Utkarsh Srivastava

Amogh Arepally
Parth Patel
Rayaan Bhagani

Khush Bhalala

If USA doesn't want to play its native, so be it. Why this NRI XI is disguising itself as USA XI??
