Moving Forward What Are Your Suggestion.

I know this may be a pipe dream but the culture from grass root level needs to change. It's not about centuries. personal milestones, records and individuals but it should be about the team. This is where Aussies or England will always have an edge because they are taught that every run or wicket taken should be for the team's cause and none of it matters if it doesn't contribute to a win whereas in India it's about the super stars and hero worship. Unless this culture changes, India will struggle against Aus or Eng in ICC tournaments.

Australia and England are first world countries and sporting powerhouses. The only countries better than them at sports are USA, China and Russia. They belong in the second tier with Japan, Germany, France etc.

You cannot have the infrastructure w/o the economy.

I am 100% sure that eventually in 15ish years India will dominate everything. What we are seeing now is growing pains.

1990s India didn't win anything and didn't even make semis much.

2000s won a few but lots of missing semis (2004, 2006, 2007wc, 2009).

2010s won a couple at the beginning then made every semi at the least.

2020s 3 finals and 1 semi. I am very sure we will win at least two this decade.

I know people are down after the final but the domination of Indian cricket is a when, not an if considering the competitors are first world countries which won't grow and which don't take cricket that seriously and the only countries as passionate about cricket as India are poorer with less population.

You can already see the domination in U-19 level. Will percolate to senior level this decade (Digressing - Indian wrestlers are also performing well at junior levels especially women's. 2028/32 will see Olympic medal windfall).

By 2035 the team will be strong enough that it will be able to weather any advantage due to toss, conditions etc.

Fire Dravid.

Three formats, three Captains.

No more celebration of Individual centuries or rankings. None of that nonsense.

Use Analytics and AI for decision making.

Rotation policy to be implemented.

And did I mention fire Dravid and get a foreign coach. Australian preferably.

Agree with everything except the last point. We could do with a Kiwi coach as they know how to maximize output with meager resources. Also, at grassroots level, improve outfield to SENA level so that our players learn to fearlessly dive and stop at a young age.

Kiwi is fine too. Diving and sliding are never going to be the part of Indian culture. All the mothers complain about washing clothes with marks on them.

You have a point, no one achieves more with so little as the Kiwis.

Not with the kind of money BCCI has. They have more money than all the boards combined. Paying to buffoons like Shastri and Dravid is where they made a mistake.

Change the batting approach - Top 3 have to hit taking risks. They dont have to be hitters but good batsmen who will keep on hitting. For e.g be..Warner, Head, Marsh.

The next 3 have to be ones who can consolidate.

All rounder at 7

8 to 11 specialist  bowlers who have to learn to bat a bit.

Needless some batsmen have to pitch in with 3 to 4 overs.

Anyone of the top 4 who cross 75 have to up the ante on SR.

Rotate players every series. Don't want to see same faces at the same position.

And I don't know how to do this but build confidence in batsmen to take on the bowlers or pick such players only.  What use is KLs experience if he can only afford to go at 50 SR.

3 left handers in the main lineup.

Batting till 9. 6 bowling options at minimum.

Jaiswal

Gill

Tilak

Iyer/KLR

Pant

Hardik

Axar

Pace bowling allrounder

Sundar/pace bowling allrounder

Bumrah

Pacer

No KL please, no matter how much tours Shetty anna give to Venkatesh Prasad. He will ensure one way or the other to screw us up when the stakes are high. He has a great record in ODI's stats and I give him a roadies salute...but can't handle one more fumble from DK v2.0

Our batsman need to practice their bowling as well. They are heavily pampered and don't improve their overall cricketing skills. We ought to build a viable 6th bowling option through our front 6 players.

Like most of our bowlers have improved their batting in comparison.
