Lone Wolf
Gill's backfoot game will help him in Australia. That being said if Aussies prepare seaming tracks like they have been doing off late ... His front foot issue is still there. England's conditions have eased out a bit thanks to a poor Duke's ball & surfaces prepared by key and Baz so there is hope for him. Nikhil_cric 1 Link to comment

Yes but Indians have a history to make mediocre bowlers look World class like Sam Curran.. That being said not having Anderson is a huge sigh of relief. He used to expose even tiniest of our weakness in batting. We can win in England but hoping we arrive there with some confidence & a WTC title. Manucrick 1 Link to comment
tapandrun
Apart frm Ind and Aus gill hardly has avg, of 20, last time in Aus they bowled him short and at that time it looked like he does not have obvious weakness against short-ball. But rest of his game is v.doubtful even in Ind he does not look that comfortable. The problem is he lacks power game for t20s and solid technique fr Test, how can he improve those simultaneously ?? And these days a batter in top3 can easily average in 50 in Odis playing those meaningless innings Link to comment

putrevus
Sehwag was a walking wicket in SENA, Laxman had trouble with incoming deliveries from both spin and fast bowlers.Dravid could play a shot to even rotate strike and had issues facing real pace. No batsman is perfect. Gill has issues , good thing is he knows it too.He is willing to work on his issues. That is all anyone can ask from young player. He is willing to do hard yards to get better in all formats. He has started well this season, let us see where he ends up after these 10 tests. Sandz 1 Link to comment
