Shubman Gill : Just too many weaknesses ?

Gill is a younger version of KL Rahul who is an inferior version of Rahane. He might even score a 100 this series but don’t expect 500+ run type series especially in SENA from him. He will play an odd blinder and get an extended run on tailunt. By then he would have played 70-80 tests.

Gill is a massive frontfoot plonker like Kohli. A reason why he struggles against spin also. Gill has a bit of backfoot game. But he doesn't play unless it is really short.  When the ball is in between length his tendency to go forward as much as possible.  Don't know how he can dramatically change his instinct at this juncture.  May be he can stand a little bit outside of the crease. He has to do something. Otherwise these dismissals will repeat righ through his career.

Why not select someone like Rinku instead of this overrated prince, Rinku isn't just about T20, he has played 50 first class matches with an average of 54.

He is 27 what are they waiting for, when would they give him a chance to prove himself when he is past 30 ? This is his prime, and we are wasting it on washed up players, and overrated players like Gill who has been given years, yet no result.

Rinku deserves to be in the team. He's the true multi-format batter which our selectors love. The guy averages 54 in FC and someone like SKY was given a chance in Tests ahead of him. Our selectors and team management are clueless about which players to back.

Rinku is undergoing the 2nd season curse in international cricket. He is more needed in white ball. First let him get the confidence there. Not sure how he will do in red ball in Australia of all places lol. Guys like Kohli, Rahul, Jaiswal, Pant, Rohit are struggling and we expect Rinku to smack Cummins, Starc, Hazelwood in Gabba test match :hysterical:

I would back him to stick around much more than likes of Kohli and Rohit. Rinku has many facets to his game and he's not a typical T20 basher.

One ball at the throat in Gabba and that will be it. Sorry, first let him play in tests in India. Sarfaraz is Bradman in domestics and he is considered not good enough in Australia and you want a decent player but more of a white ball player at the moment. What next Tewatiya in Sydney?

We've already seen what great performances "King" Kohli and "Hitman" Rohit have delivered - essentially making it a 9 man team. Any domestic performer would be a huge upgrade on both the maharathis.

Thakur would fare better than ROKO.

Any domestic batter would perform better if carried for half a decade.

There're some players who don't get a chance coz they're from backwaters and don't have the "right" backing, and then we have entitles stars like Kohli & Rohit who don't play domestic cricket, skip warm ups, and simply show up to take their spot in the team as if it's their birthright.

whats the point of having "A" tours prior to a big series if you are not going to pick from that Tour ? Reddy was picked , Sai K should have seen a debut now he is injured

How can you say that without giving someone a chance to play ? that's just assuming things..

Did Reddy came in with a lot of experience of playing in foreign conditions that too Australia of all places ?

Even if a young player doesn't succeed you are still better off giving them a chance and investing in the future than having same washed up players like Kohli, Sharma, Gill fail again and again...

Imagine an attitude like this.. would we have won in 2020-21 ? If we are done because we were bowled out for 36.. because Kohli couldn't do jack s*it to Starc, Cummins, Hazzlewood what would the youngsters do who have never played in Aus, with that attitude you have lost even before the battle begins.

Guess what we won exactly because of those young players.. becauy we backed them..

Bollywood Gill is more busy on hunting some bollywood chiks… He seems like a domestic bully we were expecting him to perform better at bouncy Aussies wkts but looks like he is bouncing somewhere else.

I think you mean that someone else is bouncing on him... and it ain't Cum-mins, Hazel-wood, Stark-naked, or Ball-and (Boland)

Amazing that this Gem of a talent returns to the side (after having enjoyed a 10 day long break) only to join his teammates for an early lunch on Day1.   :hysterical:

sheer talent. saw out a whole session, and will now go to enjoy lunch with vadapav

don't be too surprised if we see FatGill emerge in the next few years. even rohit looked relatively "fit" in his mid-20s.
