Shubman Gill : Just too many weaknesses ?

He needs to be dropped for his own good. People were writing his biography even before he debuted. He needs to go back to the domestics and earn his spot. Too much stardom has gone to his head while much more deserving players have to toil in the domestics year after year or discarded after a few failures.

Still can't get over his shot in the WC final when we had a good start. And twice in this match he has handed the good position we were back to Australia with his atrocious shot selections.

he should not only be dropped, but never selected in Ind test matches.

It's the case of limited skills than mental issue.

I hate these fan bases. But there is one slight upside. They troll each other lol I know Ruturaj doesn't deserve a fan base. But his fan base is the only one going after Gill in social media.  They were the ones who shared his dubious stats overseas. Then everybody started sharing.  Pant fans vs Samson fans.  Jaiswal for now is in safe situation. Hope he stays there.

i honestly thought he would have performed better in aus. played some stupid shots, to be honest. needs to be sent back to first class and grind it out for a season. can become a decent player with some guidance and hard work not gonna be like Jaiswal tho

Here is a prophecy for you that you can check around 2035 or so :

he will NOT be dropped, he will be selected for tests for the next 10 years on a consistent basis and at the end of it, Indian cricket fans will develop a new appreciation for West Indies cricket fans of the 90s and their love-hate relationship with Carl Hooper.

Because like Carl Hooper, when Gill is 'on', he will bat against South Africa in durban as if he is batting against Delhi Public School XI and will look as good as Tendulkar on his best day, but he will be 'on' just often enough to aveage 35-40 and just enough to be the 'want to drop but will not drop' Indian Hooper.

Yeah, I know he won't get dropped. It's not because of perceived "talent" but because of big commercial interests that have anointed him as the Prince.

As for his talent, I have seen Carl Hooper (obviously), but also Lawrence Rowe. Both were far more gifted and had more complete games than Flashman Gill. I would not put him in the same league as these two.

Doubt he even is that level. May score on flat decks, but does not have the technique or temperament to score big even on his day

How can players like Ruturaj, Gill and Samson have fans and fan clubs?  :hmmm:
