Not sure how many hv realised this.  We hv lost 2 out of our last 3 tests at home.   1 loss to Aus(at indore), 1 draw vs Aus (Ahmedabad) & 1 loss to Eng.  Despite all our loopholes, it has rarely happened in indian test history that our team has put up poor shows in 3 consecutive tests at home.  Home Dominance was the only USP left in Indian cricket for nearly a decade.  Under Rohit-Dravid, even that is quickly going to erode.

We laid out the flattest patta of the last 30 years in BGT test 4, absolute phattu mentality. I believe we may have won that series but exposed our fear to Aussies, it was a psychological surrender, an admission that we were inferior to them in fair playing conditions.....Aus built on that and hammered us in WTC final. In a sense all the mental edge we had developed over Aus in last 4 BGT series was handed away by pitch doctoring in the BGT Ahmedabad test, and that decision would cost us big the rest of the year. Another feather in the cap for this coach/captain duo.

BCCI should have some restraining order forbidding these 2 from coming in a 30 yards vicinity of pitch curator before any home game. Heck I saw Dravid contently at the ears of BD curator in our previous tour there, I have never seen any coach as obsessed with pitch as him. He has got Lucknow curator fired, rewarded Kanpur curator in the NZ test, I mean how is this not corruption?

Shastri was the other extreme, he believed in taking pitch out of the equation and was vocal in saying so. Under Kohli's reign we not only gave pace friendly pitches to the likes of SL/BD but also NZ, imagine this TM giving the kind of greentop pitch to peak Southee/Boult the way we gave them in 2016 Eden and it was Bhuvi of all people who blew them apart.....I am sure Dravid would go Ramsay Bolton on all family members of the curator in such a case. Or the critical series decider in 2017, Dharamsala test which resembled an Aussie pitch more than Indian one, and we were so close to losing a home series after lunch of day 1. This TM made Dharamsala look like IPL's Chepauk in our WC game against NZ....imagine turning a fast bowler's paradise like Dharamsala to a mud strip for the WC?

No accountability for these 2, after enduring so many humiliating defeats. In fact Dravid's contract got extended, his minions like Rathour and Mhambrey too faced no repercussion. Rohit instead of being sacked has found his way back in a format which he is not suited to play, the worst ever WT20 players of all time in Rohit/Jadeja are guaranteed starters in yet another WT20 while so much promising talent is kept away from the T20I team. Even Pakistan cricket has more accountability than this.

Kishan scores 200, dropped next game.

Kuldeep MOM in BD test, dropped next game.

Bishnoi champ performance against Pak in 2022 Asia Cup Super 4s, dropped after that because his match winning effort was undone by Arshdeep's drop catch.

Samson dropped from ODIs for no reason, picked in T20s before 2023 WC. Before T20 WC he will be dropped from T20s and picked for ODIs. All this done to keep KL's position unchallenged.

Umran, Kuldeep Sen, XYZ promising tearaway quick dropped after 1 bad performance, while trundlers like Sakariya, Unadkat, Mukesh keep getting chances despite multiple failures. Complete failure to groom next batch of young quicks, where is Tyagi?

SKY getting test debut ahead of domestic performers. Not even ODIs, directly a test against Lyon, Cummins.

Playing mediocre Bharat over other high ceiling keepers, again to give a backdoor entry to KL in case his form goes awry.

Pandya dodgy fitness but no plan to have another fast bowling AR in standby.

Sundar nowhere to be found. Thakur persisted with despite his alarming decline in form and fitness. What happened to Mayank for home tests? Selective use of fitness excuse to keep some players out while captain looks like a sumo wrestler. Gill persisted with despite zero returns, same with Shreyas Iyer. Ruturaj's future unclear, same case with a dozen different youngsters who are picked one series, then forgotten in the next. Rinku, Bishnoi, Arshdeep, Jitesh, nobody knows what the plan is with these rookies.

This next transition is going to be more painful than 2011-12, we are yet to replace Ishant/Umesh/Pujara/Rahane and even Bharat is a big downgrade compared to Saha (forget Pant!!!!). Shami, Ashwin, Rohit will be gone in a year, max 2. Then in 2-3 years Kohli, Jadeja will be gone. By then Bumrah, Siraj, KL will be in their mid 30s. Nobody knows who the next captain is going to be in any of the formats, they haven't even identified candidates. Nobody knows who the replacements are going to be....whether you agree or not these names I mentioned are big shoes to fill and without proper planning/grooming we will get massive donwgrades in each of their positions.

Lack of planning in most areas and no vision regarding building a team for the near future.

They are generaly picking low ceiling bowlers who are just about adequate for the time being instead of developing young bowlers who have potentially high ceilings.

Pakistan? Even a broken , broke bickering board like West Indies are getting their selections right.

Pakistan suffers from a lack of elite talent and issues with managing workloads etc

They pretty much select their best players

The only board as bad as us is Sri Lanka.

I somewhat blame WTC for this. Every Test matters and so it is difficult to test and develop bench strength. There are always points at stake.

Pacers' development in youth and even first class cricket is pretty shambolic so that's where we need reforms.

As usual you are spot on.

Lack of planning and lack of preparation for the future.

When India were winning easily home series we should have groomed young cricketers that could take over one day. Instead every Uncle wants to play.

Spot on! The Aussies are reaping the rewards for serving up fair and balanced decks while we are running out of places to hide. Win or lose, a fair contest between bat and ball is a prerequisite for any cricket match to be enjoyable. Points obsession for the WTC has turned our already timid think tank even more timid, focusing on ways to ambush the opposition with substandard pitches rather than with genuine cricketing skills. Both our bowling as well as batting got destroyed in the process, with the batsmen developing the mindset that scoring runs is beyond them, and the bowlers looking clueless when the pitch doesn't play tricks.

I am expecting 3-1 win for Eng this series, with 1 patta leading to a draw. this will be the "great" legacy of fatman and dravidiot

So a repeat of 1976 then. That was a humiliating series loss, though more well remembered for Lever's Vaseline controversy.

they don't need vaseline this time, unless it will be used as a lubricant to lessen the pain of how royally Ind cricket will get effed by dravidiot and fatman

I agree as well, Fatman and The Wall will blow up all the pitches for the remaining games.

Making runs impossible and therefore relying on the quality of bowlers. India's spin bowlers are better than the English, its just our batsmen are pathetic. I am sure we will look to rectify this with KL back as keeper and playing an extra spinner instead of Siraj.

Dravid has image of all innocent, hard working and honest guy who only tries hard and has no control over anyone. Many people believe that.

He definitely isn't an assertive guy. Chappell walked all over him.

What's the point complaining?

World cup loss and Rohit has zero repercussions.

KL is given even more power.

SKY made captain of T20 team.

This is seniority phattu culture that a lot of you fans worship.

The fact that an aging past his prime Kohli is looking fit and world class goes to show how much the team has regressed since even just 2020.

Everyone here were looking for Kohli to retire in 2020-2021. Now he is the best batsman in the team and he is still worse than he was in 2020-2021.

The reality is BCCI has become complacent and just doesn't care considering they are milking money hand over fist. It's just fans need to understand and temper expectations. The Aussie and English players are laughing at us at how stupid BCCI is that they are throwing millions to foreign players for a phattu tournament where they just have to show up like a paid vacation and get paid millions.

On the other hand players like Chahar, Pandya, Sundar and others just so happen to be fit for IPL. This is clearly a sign that when TM and BCCI have zero love for these young players, they too have realized they need to preserve their careers to milk money from IPL.

How long will someone like Umran Malik wait to get an opportunity when he isn't even picked for AUS, NZ or SA tours where he would have actually shined? How long will Kuldeep Sen or even Kuldeep Yadav wait when Ashwin and Jadeja total losers are still hogging spots.

our bowlers are not much better than Eng. boom is better, but root and leach are about the same as ashwin and jaddu on bunsen turners.

But people were dying to get rid of Shastri and Kohli.

Shastri while was boisterous and came across as a goof always had very good cricketing sense. He was an overachiever with his limited talent.

Kohli has too much power was common whining point on ICF also. Both him and Shastri tried to do things to improve Indian cricket especially in fast bowling depratment. They were not afraid to fail doing that but people took their home dominance for granted. They competed in all away tests too.

Were they perfect no but atleast you could see things were trying. When you are saddled with eternal losers like KL Rahul and I will bat for one innings Rahane, nothing much can be done.

India failed to chase that fourth inning total against Herath but turned around and won that series in 2015 and clean swept them in all formats on next tour.

Can India win here next 4 tests???

Come to India Rohit Sharma is done as cricketer, he should be kicked out, how is he passing fitness tests??

Can anyone say Dravid has any plan? Rohit's captaincy is appalling and is getting brutally exposed if bowlers are not picking wickets.

Last BGT after first test he thought it would be cake walk and was talking nonsense only to resort to complete flat pitch in 4th test to save India's bacon.

This is what happens when you underestimate the other team.

They had a gem in Bharat Arun. This Mhambrey is total downgrade.

That is what I said about Bharat Arun way back in 2018 itself. He was the unsung hero in fast bowlers getting better along with Kohli the captain.,

Our three idiots Sachin, Ganguly and VVS (CAC) tried to saddle Zaheer Khan as bowling coach to Shastri in 2017 itself.Who flatly refused and asked for Arun in particular.

Sachin and VVS were in the team which selected great Jaidev Unadkt over Umesh Yadav in SA too.
