Actually kohli was playing 4D chess today. He got out early to ensure we would get all out and have a crack at Australia in seaming conditions. And then he dropped labuschagne to ensure india would not come out to bat again today so no chance of our top order collapsing

Looking at Paddikal and some of the upcoming Tailunt Kohli still looks way above quality. However yes you need to move on and give the next guy a chance after a certain point of time. Give him all 5 tests and then Tata bye bye. He played 1 knock in WT20 and made it count and retired. Hopefully will call it a day with a 100. I won’t let recency bias cloud my judgement, great player but this is it either ways on a high note or low note.

Paddikal is wrong choice that doesn't justify Kohli. There is enough talent to replace current Kohli easily provided they are backed

Padikkal is a fine batsman . Survived 23 new balls in extreme swing against best pace bowling . Kohli will not survive 3-5 balls . 
 

Lots of good talent around . Our t20 team is full of players like Samson , Verma etc or rinku who have good fc averages and can easily step into test team . Sarfaraz is sitting out and he should be playing in lieu of kohli . 
 

Our media is useless . Not one player is asking for kohli to be dropped . 
 

I have a gut feeling that kohli will be dropped in test no 3 after he fails in pink ball test
