Possible RCB lineup that can turn around things

Kohli

Jacks

Faf

Patidar/Rawat

DK

Lomror

Tom Curran

Karn

Akash Deep

Lockie

Dayal

Their domestic buys are very bad but this is the best they can offer

I think they do this intentionally. They don't want a talented domestic player who can hog the limelight from Kohli. They are okay if its Gayle or ABD but can't let any Indian talent shine in Kohli's presence

karthik cannot bat more than 10-15 deliveries. He should have batted at number 4 once Maxwell did not click.

He would batted his quota if he batted at number 4.

Maxwell not bowling was as stupid as it gets.Butler was all at sea before that 20 run over.Maxwell has experience to bowl in power play.

Wouldn't have made much of a difference. The openers simply didn't leave anything for the other batsmen. Max a difference of 8-10 runs, which wouldn't have made the difference the way Buttler and Samson were batting. The damage was done before Maxwell and Karthik could even enter the game. But yeah, Maxwell should've been given an over or two - nothing to lose when everyone else was getting hit.

It would have made world of difference. If you don't have any bowlers who can take wickets no score is defendable.

I beg to differ. When you bat first, you have to aim for a score around 200. And when you get a start like RCB did the other night, there's no reason for them not to score over 200. Their RR was consistently hovering around 8.5-9 with wickets in hand. But the set batsmen never tried to take risks and kept on going at the same rate. Once they reached the score of 80 without losing a wicket, they should've gone hell for leather. Commies pointed out multiple times how they were satisfied scoring one boundary an over and then taking 1s. They never had any big overs and Buttler and Samson showed how to do so.

Even if you thought the par score was 170 initially, they should've adjusted the score after the start they got. Kohli was busy tapping full-tosses from Avesh at the death trying to get to 100. It's easy to blame Maxwel, Karthik, captaincy, bowling but on that pitch and with the start 180 was never enough. The game was lost by RCB's openers and you can't expect bowlers to cover up their top order's incompetence on such a patta.

I beg to differ also.

183 could have been 195-200 if DK was allowed to bat at number 4 plus if FAF's captaincy was not stinking up the place, RCB should have won comfortably the match.

As LSK are showing bowlers can win matches too.

you are supporting 2000s style of play. Only Bangladesh, Pakistan, Srilanka play that kind of cricket.

I am not supporting any style,  you need a allround team to win matches.

Bowlers if they cannot do anything no team will win.RCB has no bowlers , how are they going to win if they are batting first.

LSK are winning as they're bowling against batting lineup similar to RCB openers, i.e., nobody who can take on the bowling

They will  win against any other team if they get wickets upfront.

If they got Butler out yesterday early if they did not drop him, RCB was winning the match easily.

Bowlers have ball in hand to take wickets. If they keep leaking runs no total is defendable.

The onus is on batsmen as well to get to a safe total. When you can't get to 200 despite being 100/0 and an opener playing through the whole innings eating up nearly 70% of the deliveries, the fault is on batsmen not bowling. Can't expect bowlers to bowl the team out on a flat pitch where 200 should've been the target score.

They would have gotten 200 if DK was promoted .He is the only guy who could go from ball one.

Did Kohli and Faf play too slow yes but I still think a better captained game  from FAF would have won the match easily for RCB.

Bowlers are being paid to play the game too.

They would've scored 200 if their selfish opener wasn't tapping freebies from Avesh Khan for singles trying to get to a 100. Watch the innings again and see how many full-tosses and cr@p bowling was patted around between 16th and 20th overs to get to a 100. Even if hald of those deliveries were put away 200 was there for the taking. Blame bowling all you want but on that pitch Kohli's selfishness was the biggest reason for the loss.

Ind is riddled with selfish openers chief amongst them Kohli who loves to pad stats/chase meaningless personal milestones over team success.

It's no wonder won jack at international tournaments for over a decade.

200 would have been reached if DK was promoted.Kohli on his best day will not score 150 in 20 overs.

That was never his game.

Bowlers  and captaincy are the biggest reasons for the loss.

Sorry, but no.

DK is limited, and can only hit specific amount of balls.

Lomror was dropped unfairly, and RCB powercenter is heavily concentrated at the top.

Divide your force, move Rawat who is an opener to top. Keep Kohli at 3, Lomror at 4, Maxwell 5 & Green 6.

Current batting ends at 4, Maximize the potential.

Bowling is not anymore a secret that it's weak. But batting ain't doing any favours either.

DK's limit is 8-10 deliveries, that is what he would have faced if he batted at number 4.Maxwell is the floater. I agree Lomror should have played.

Again they don't have any leftie who can break up RHBs in the lineup., Rawat with his SR of 115 is not the answer IMO.

IMO Green is not going to work at number 4 or middle order. He is an opener , he needs time to get going.I don't know why they traded for him.I would drop Green  and get Lockie.I would drop Siraj and get Akashdeep and drop that useless left arm spinner and get anybody.

Every team needs to have template to win. RCB has none. With the personnel they have they are never going to blast 260.

GT won with Vijay shankar, Sai sudarshan,  Wriddiman saha. Pandya became tuk tuk batsman. Gill was still evolving in 2022.  Miller was out of form for 4 or 5 years in IPL when he was picked up by GT. Tewatia was just a cameo man. Apart from Rashid to some extent Shami nobody was good enough. They reached final twice. Won once. Gettinig the best out of your limited resource is an art. Doesn't come naturally to anyone. RCB never had that quality. THey always got the worst out of their resources. That is why they never won.  CSK bowlers are not really great. They had Jadeja as "finisher" last season. Last 2 seasons matches happened in neutral venues. So there is not excuse of not winning as they often blamed chinnaswamy their own home ground for their failure.

GT won because they had a dynamite bowling attack. Shami and Rashid were beasts.

RCB never had any bowling attack to support their batting.

You need one or two go to bowlers who will get some wickets when in crunch.

Give the same "dynamic" attack to RCB they will lose. They had Chahal winning orange cap a few times. They had Hazlewood. They had Harshal taking 32 wicket sin a single season. This iis what Shane watson had to say about RCB management. The team management always kept them insecure. So batsmen always played for personal milestone due to that. They would drop players impatiently. Look at Dube with CSK. Look at Dube with RCB. They dropped him after 2 matches. Ruturaj was a massiive failure first season. He became a joke. They stuck with him.  They had enough resources to win matches.
