I almost did this week. But there was two different ways.  One rice/dal cooking together like this video which i saw other one is cooking separately.

So many variations. Jeerige? Tamaato? ByaDappa.

One of my pet peeves. As a Tamizhan brought up in Bengaluru, I was oft-annoyed by my relatives referring to BBB as Sambarch(s)aadam. Lei nimmajjigaLa, the spices in BBB are so uniquely aromatic, there's is really no comparison with sambar.

I make BBB once every 3 weeks. Secrets to a good BBB:

Easy secret:  More dal than rice (1.25:1). Don't skimp on dal. Need it for texture. Soak together in warm water for 1 hour before cooking.

Hard secret: fresh masala. When I am able to source from this from people in blr who really know the proportions of all spices, there is nothing better in the world.

For my regular prep, I just use MTR powder. I double what they say on the package. Good enough for us.

Make your own powder, comes out fresh and tastier than any store powder. it's not that hard.

I am big hater of boondi in BBB. It has to be either sandige or worse potato chips. Boondi adds some of it's own chili powder flavor and spoils the taste of BBB.   And yes.. No TakkaaLi please.

I've done it but not for weeknight dinner.

I make a lot of it and keep it in the freezer. Use a bit of dry coconut as a preservative, but even fresh ones can be kept in the freezer and used at least for a month or so. I can't live without BBB!

Don't want RCB to win, don't want that Pak loving narcissist Kohli to get the satisfaction of winning an IPL.

I love B'lore and Karnataka like the rest of India, but do not want Kohli to win.

It can happen

Lack of business end specialist teams in the last 4. That makes the life of RCB easier. KKR/CSK both have been good in the business end. Now only MI is left. GT is good. But they are still inexperienced. Punjab looked like a deer caught in headlights.

I share the same sentiment though I feel bad for the fans who have been praying for a cup win year after year.

"Kohli, who was positioned at first slip, referred to how the right-handed batter had been serving drinks for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. In the video clip, Kohli was heard saying, “Yeh paani pilaata hai. (He serves water).”

This chewt sat out the last, series deciding game against Australia in 2016 like a scared crow but wanting to not lose any attention, carried drinks onto the field. His toxic attitude is the reason he never led any team to a title win and never will.

Well there're leaders who bring the team together and make them better like Iyer... and then there're some like Kohli who can't even win with someone like Bumrah in your team alongside peak Shami. Couldn't win with likes of Gayle, ABDV, Starc, Maxwell, Watson, KL Rahul in IPL as well.

Common denominator across all that epic losing - the so called "King" Kohli. He's the unquestionable King of losers for sure.
