jf1gp_1
Guy has bowled all of 24 deliveries. No domestic experience. Might be worth waiting a bit or like Pakistani are we also going to start every second bowler as second coming of akram. ravishingravi 1 Link to comment

Although I agree, he is very very raw. He didn't bowl a single slower ball either, that is an absolute must in this format. In the presentation, he mentioned that he thought of that before the match. But as fast bowling worked for him, he didn't revert to cutters. In another interview with Manjot Kalra few months back, he mentioned that how few years back before going for Delhi Ranji trials, he only knew 2 deliveries...yorker & bouncer. Skills is a continuous learning anyway. But pace is a solid foundation on which other skills can be added upon. Pace is natural, it can't be developed, skills can. express bowling and Number 2 Link to comment

He has List A & T20 experience...not much FC as he debuted only last year in FC & missed this season due to injury. But despite injuries his pace, accuracy, so called line length is there. So called experienced domestic veterans like Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkut, Harshal Patel etc has only harmed us so far. And he is no Akram, his fast bowling hero is Dale Steyn who was another speedster. His skillset are different from what Akram had, and I hope he develops further and reduce our dependency on Bumrah. express bowling
What has always impressed me about MayankYadav while watching domestic cricket is how accurate he is while bowling at full pace. His qualities .... Express pace without too much effort Around 6'2" height Steep bounce and gets bounce off good length. Just 21 years old. Accuracy at full pace Can vary lengths while maintaining good line Is not predictable Has a good enough hard length ball. Can seam the ball both ways. Has a vicious bouncer Can bowl decent yorkers too All the best young man ! Have a very successful, long and low injury career. Averages 21 in.List A and 14 in T20s. ER of 6.6 in T20s and 5.4 in List A. Was bullying the higher level zonal batsmen playing for North Zone. Even in domestic cricket, what stood out was his accuracy while bowling at express pace. Link to comment

So when other starts at 0 mark, this guy is already at 30 or 40 (if not 70 or 80). Ofcourse, no one knows the future. But he has given a hope that we can get replacement of Shami & Bumrah from him. express bowling 1 Link to comment

T20 and ODI seem his stronger suit right now. I hope BCCi realizes this... He has little 4 day experience so his body might not be suited for long format yet. Need to preserve him. I would keep him in LoI sides before Australia... Lee treatment is needed. Link to comment

He needs to play FC games at every opportunity he gets. Should be in.the India A side to Australia. It's sad that he missed this Ranji season due to injury. He can play some ODIs too and get to practice bowling 5 over spells. Play him regularly but manage his workload by giving him regular breaks. Lone Wolf 1 Link to comment

He can be yadav. World has seen barely any holdings. Holding played like 6 or 7 tests a year. So no doubt he could average that low as he was always well rested. Let's see what happens with mayank. But that is part and parcel of any pace bowler. I remember how Gayle manhandled 150k deliveries from Brett Lee in ENgland during the world T20. Heck even Krunal Pandya thrashed Mark wood in one of the one dayers. Won't be long. After a few bad games, it will be cut down pace. It's adharmic as well. Faster you bowl, faster it creeps to boundary. Also line and length seedha sadha fek doh Link to comment

And SA tried to promote mphaka fodder as some tearaway quick. He got obliterated worse than umran on his worst season. Also coetze is just fast not tearaway. In tests he was trundling. He is too chubby as well. Link to comment
