They have closed down this , probably 2 years back. They have moved and changed the menu more towards Punjabi style now.

Nothing wrong with Punjabi food, but there are probably many more Punjabi restaurants than ones like this that can serve a good sagu.

TBH, there is no such thing as a monolithic South Indian cuisine.

I mean - think about the difference between an hitkid avarekaaLu saaru and a regular sambar. They are as far apart as a sambar and a dal makhani. Yet, they are both "South Indian." I wish there were really good Karnataka-food restaurants - Bisi bele bhaat, hesarkalu palya with bassaaru, nuchnunde, ragi mudde, jolad roti, palaav, etc etc ... not to mention all the non-veg dishes. There's enough for a whole restaurant menu and more.

Forget all that, I am looking for any good sambar in any South Indian restaurnt. Eating Idli-sambar made by a Gujju cook in a Udupi restaurant owned by a Punjabi is not what I will pay good money for.  Swagath was the last one. There is no called Mini Idli Bites, charges $15 for a Dosa. WTF!
