Also, as explained in the post above, the franchise makes almost the same amount of money (via broadcasting rights and ads) even if it performs poorly. Profits all round for Goenka. 
Also KL is a crowd puller of sorts. The kind of player you want to build a franchise around.

kl crowd puller? Where did u get that? I will bring a mattress to stadium so i can sleep while he bats. Thats called crowd sleeper

Like how can he even justify the innings he played on the same pitch where  SRH openers were going  for non Stop Sixes ?

if there is this type of public "performance evaluation" by BCCI, it may lead to some radically different results: not necessarily good, but not necessarily bad

This isn't for money at all. Goenka sinks money into Indian football and there is no return there whatsoever but his team wins. He seeks sporting success

 

With the Mega auctions next year, there is little point releasing Rahul now if they can't get a decent replacement. The performance to top it all off was embarrassing, in an almost must win game and the individual performance ,notwithstanding his captaincy, was abysmal. No one is building around KL, the best they played was when he was an impact player.

Starc is a bigger name. Besides their team is doing well. Also Kela is one of the reason why they lost badly lol

This literally happened to me. I was at the stadium for the WC finals and kid you not,  I dozed off for some time when KL was batting.

next time have sleep number send u a bed in advance. U can relax while he bats…because this lodu bats … n for long time n no action. Its like watching a movie and come to the poiinttt or girl asking u r u done yet?
