Want this to go for 6 months. You are right in the sense that casual fans watch more IPL than serious fans. I am simply not able to get tickets online at Chennai stadium. I am trying the right way this entire season. People from different parts of Tamil Nadu are coming to the stadium for the sole purpose of catching Dhoni before he retires. I hope that *er Dhoni retires soon so that I could get my tickets with ease and enjoy the match.

srgadjon
In future, IPL will probably be longer with more teams and more importance to home grown talent. Maybe a 6 month affair with most of the games during weekends. Fans who are mostly interested in international cricket might find it boring but there is a very strong fanbase for most of the IPL teams. Many of them are already sad that IPL this year is getting over. They don't seem to get enough, especially the high scoring games Austin 3:!6

The longer India goes without winning a ICC trophy the more grounds BCCI have to expand the IPL
vvvslaxman
There are 10 cities rooting for 10 teams. 3 are doing with passion. What about other cities in India? They are forced to root for one of these teams. Many are attached some teams because of big stars. Once they retire there won't be any attachment. For them international matches are bigger. I suspect BCCI also plays a role in MSD prolonging his IPL career. Rohit is washed up. KOhli may play for another 5 years for RCB
