Tough to keep a straight face when the captain himself doesn't deserve a spot in the team. And no, the teammates don't need to sign up to include Parag. This is national team selection, not selection of a babu for a sarkari naukri

I guess you dont know how a team environment works nor aware the role a captain plays in both team/squad selection.

Many lessons can be learnt. BCCI ought to have workshops for the young IPL stars including professional conduct, media skills.

Then especially coach/captain,  also should communicate directly , with those hopeful players who couldn’t make into squad. Explain them their reasons + future encouragement/confidence.

I know exactly how it works and the best way to destroy any team is to put in a leader who doesn't deserve to be there. When the captain himself is anointed without any performance, it's easy to see how the youngsters who've been left out truly feel. Tough to explain the reasons for exclusion when non-performers get into the squad no matter what.

Riyan should be careful. BCCI are a vindictive organisation who want subservient yes men .  They will never select him and carry Jadeja until 2027 if he continues in this vein.

he won't be playing for india... ever. indian selectors, TM, etc will be quite strict on him - whether it is warranted or not is a separate debate.

Selfish trait, not good for unity in dressing room or team culture. Just say best of luck and move on, why these digs at your country's team, a team you want to be a part of in the future. If he gets selected for India and is dropped for a match will he wear opponent's jersey in the dressing room?

he might... seems like the type to do it.

What an idiot. Squad selection also involves yes from your captain/teammates.

Why would a captain select him when he has a loud mouth, runs to media to diss own team/country.

The captain is on his last legs, or belly. So it doesn’t matter.

Future rayudu.

good analogy. talented player who lost his way in the early 20s, partly because of factors beyond his control and partly his motor mouth

Mohd Shami, one of Indias greatest fast bowler was dropped in semis of WC 19 even after incredible performances.

When we lost, he was graceful and didn’t even point one finger or raised any concern, never gave interviews to media complaining how he was ignored despite probably being amongst the top 3 greatest Indian pacers of all time……..

Now we have this ****

Performed in one season of IPL and domestics and thinks India owes him a place in the squad.

The fans supporting this are the same ones who think Indian young talent is as good as aussies of 2000s and IPL is the gold standard and Surya is Indias best ever t20 bat.

Parag idolizes Andrew Tate, he will turn out to be a bigger douche than Pandya.

I didn't know this.  Not sure why idiots fall for that scamster.  Thought Riyan was a bit smarter than that.
