zen
Yahudi (1958) Starring Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari and Sohrab Modi A period film set in “Rome”. Overall, a decent time pass if you are in the mood for such a film. It has the song - “Yeh mera dewaanapan hai”: The film has a melodramatic end. However, I would have preferred a relatively upbeat end. Edited September 14 by zen
coffee_rules
Watched Shagird (1967) - Joy Mukherjee, IS Johar, Saira banu I had liked it a lot when I saw it a long time ago on DD, this one was a bad print on YT. I didn't like it as much as I remembered. Joy Mukherjee didn't get his due in that era, because he acted like Shammi Kapoor. Tall guy. But adequate as an actor much better than Jeetendra. IS Johar is really funny , like him better than Mehmood. L-P had a gret outing with this on the soundtrack. All memorable songs - Dil Vil Pyaat Vyaar topping the charts. Director is some no-name Bong. Figures why he casted Joy Mukherjee. On a side note, read on Wiki that Saira Banu was nominated for Best Actress for FF. It is comical that she played a retard for a "innocent" girl. Maybe it's a time /date thingy. I liked this song best: Edited September 26 by coffee_rules
