You think he reads this forum? "copped" lol... what? This is fan fiction at best.

He was attacked way more on social media. Definitely would have noticed it.

Because he was rubbish and very inconsistent for a long time.  He kept missing his lengths especially with the new ball etc . And he has a low ceiling anyway.

The wind and dry conditions have helped him swing both the new and the old ball and he used the conditions brilliantly.

Still not sure about his long term viability

How do you know he doesn’t ? Just read the various threads and you will see what I mean. He has proved his critics wrong on this forum and on social media and that is the point.

I am happy for him and hope he can improve even more, we haven’t had a decent left arm pacer since Zaheer.

I actually doubt that players spend too much time, during a world cup, looking at media. When you're a player at that level, you're great at and trained to ignore outside noise unless its specifically just put in front of you.

You'll notice that, when players are asked questions about viral topics, they're often not aware.

They definitely notice. How do you think Virat knew what Gavaskar said in IPL or Jadeja knew what Manjrekar said in 2019 WC. There are so many examples. Ignoring is ideal but practically very tough to do.

That's quite harsh. Most bowlers except likes of Bumrah need conditions to help them. Did well in 2022 too and was one of our highest wicket takers in between.

More than ability, T20 bowlers need temperament to execute their skills under pressure and he did that very well. Bumrah wasn't a lone warrior like most of us expected.

In T20 he's shown his viability in two successive WT20s, his first two. Only fitness and stamina is required for longer formats, Has other tools.

I wasn't talking about his skills in the format. Ceiling in terms of raw physical ability.  Can't hit 140 kph at will.

Yeah pace isn't there. But 135ish too is good enough with his skills in this format. Maybe if he gets stronger pace will up too.

Is he ready for ODIs?

if he can sustain 10 overs..why not..he brings variety with being a left armer for sure..though.I prefer 5 clicks more but if he can do this:

swings and gets wkts upfront

can use short balls effectively in middle overs

comes back and bowls well in death overs..

he is improving his batting..

also Bumrah may not be playing all the ODIs..we will definitely need a goo ddeath bowler..he can do that job for us..and release some pressure from Boom..

Also,I watch that Caught Behind show and Rashid Latif as been liking Arshdeep from a very long time..he often says that Arshdeep is more suited for test bowling..I dont know how he will sustain its demands..but Rashid Latif is a good thinker..any thoughts?

He did play county cricket. He is constantly making the right moves about his career.  Hope he keeps the hunger alive. Doesn't go the route of Deepak Chahar who settled for 14 crores per year in IPL

Can get way more via marketing/ brand value if he improves as a test player. Once you are a good test player you will get all kinds of sponsorships and deals. Yes ipl pays more flat fee but marketability wise your brand value will increase a lot more via test cricket.

only passengers were yogi chahal and siraj to an extent...

Chahal's contribution behind the scene is immense.   He is the Dolly Chaiwala of our team. Serves delicious tea just b4 & after our matches.
