this thread is a case study on orwellian facistic thought police v. truth and liberty.

Nothing as sophisticated. Some posters are just simping for SA, who can take care of themselves. They are not complaining and have accepted that it was a clean catch, but some posters are hellbent on seeing a conspiracy , god knows for what purpose.

Don't be so willfully obtuse. Folks have given a pretty valid explanation for the white mark along with pics. But let me paraphrase it one more time in detail...

Every venue has multiple pitches (3-4) which're rotated across matches. You can see in any stadium where the main playing area has a bunch of pitches/strips next to the pitch being used. This is so the pitches remain as fresh as possible for future matches if there're more matches played at the same venue.

Now depending on the pitch being used, the boundary is changed in the stadium to make sure boundary distance is suitable for the specific pitch being used in that match. This is to ensure scenarios where you don't get a situation where some boundaries become too short (say 40m) and others become too long (say 90m). The white mark was from an earlier match as it was the boundary for another pitch being used. For this pitch they moved back the boundary slightly.

Either way, there's no evidence Surya or Indian team pushed back the boundary. It was the same for India and SA. If this is the reason for the defeat then in a cricket match you'll always find something or the other to cry about. But keep it coming as it's enjoyable to see the burn is real :hysterical:

And India are the WORLD CHAMPIONS! No amount of crying, moaning and whining will change it other than provide more entertainment and make the win even sweeter. Let the sweet sweet tears flow! :yay::isalute:

No one is burning. I'm happy with the victory. You obviously have not gone through the whole thread so I'll let it be.

I've gone through it but you've consistently ignored the explanation provided. You're looking for something with no basis for it,  and it falls in the "Tendulkar was LBW against Ajmal and BCICC cheated" category. When fans of certain countries are the ones raking controversy, instead of SA, it's clear to see the intentions.

Occam's razor is the perfect fit for this scenario, i.e., "simplest answer is usually the correct one" but when you choose to not acknowledge it and continuously ignore it, what exactly are we supposed to think?

It has been explained numerous times on this thread already...the boundary lines were same for both the teams..there is no evidence that Surya just move dit before that catch..

and also..that picture of Surya's feet touching boundary is optical illusion. As if the boundary skirt is a straight line..notice the nearby boundary skirt..lot of curves in it..there was no movement when Surya's feet was near to it..that was the only clue 3rd umpire will look for..if no movement even the slightest was there..nothing touched..

At this point this thread is unnecessary and can be closed...

Man I have to say, I am proud that over the past decade, we have reached many finals and lost each one of them, but not even once we behaved like sore losers, even though they are holding every damn WTC final in England.

we came back every time to make another attempt at the glory and finally we did it, hopefully many more to come, unlike our neighbours who forget about their performances, but keep coming up with mind numbingly stupid **** on our success just to make a fool out of themselves.

Also please prove me with 100x zoom that all the close fingers under the ball catches referred to 3rd umpire..balls are not touching even a single leaf of grass..then we will talk about surya's foot..

else close this thread..
