Have to keep some consistency in selections. So far even Parag can't get a game. We've identified players like Rinku, Parag, Ramandeep, Abhishek, Tilak. They haven't done anything for them to be dropped and better to give them chances before we go to others.

Don't want to do what we did to Venky Iyer. Gave him a few games, he did well and we moved on to somebody else for no reason. Give these players confidence and back them. Won't serve anybody if we keep on dropping & replacing them, and they'll end up looking over their should every game.

Iyer, Dube both played as alternative to Pandya. Iyer especially is a very limited batsman. Bowling wise inferior to Pandya.

Pandya is a great asset for us and almost irreplaceable. He contributes both with the bat and the ball and is a true all-rounder. Probably the most irreplaceable player alongside Bumrah.

and he knows it and plays with it. Ditched Tests and didn't even attempt to comeback in WC whereas guys like Yuvi and Shami have played WC amidst injuries. Turned up straight for IPL.

We have to keep in mind. This approach may not always work. When they do fail we should not over-react. We should bake occasional blowout into our expectations.

Ya usually we get less bowler friendly conditions in T20 so they are banking on that..however if there are bowling friendly conditions..with more experience they should be able to plan on lower targets and bowling should be potent enough to utilize the  conditions too

Nature of the format is such that achieving consistency is not that easy. So once in a while we may end up miscalculating things. But that shouldn't deter their approach. This is why depth is important in both department. More multi skilled players should be inducted into the squad. Infact it should be a mandatory criteria.

I like his power game..I did notice some short pitch stuff caused him trouble..however most of Indian do struggle against it..and probably its due to some lack of quality bowling exposure too..still very young and need to be given chances in ipl.

Seems to have similar mind set like McGurk, who would try to hit every ball for a 4/6. Chikara may not have same l=kind of bat swing like McGurk who even though looks unconventional but has a v.smooth bat swing and where else chikara has faster hand and plays cuts through off-side

Don't think he was fit enough to come back in the WC. He had ligament injury/tear and it takes weeks to recover from it. The team management didn't disclose the full extent of the injury to keep the opponents offguard but the initial news coming through wasn't that good.

Also don't think Pandya's body can take all the formats. IMO he made the right call by picking shorter formats where he's likely to have the biggest impact. But we should work with him so he can play a few selective Tests such as WTC final or ones where the conditions are loaded in favor of pacers such as the one in SA where the match wrapped up in 2 days or the conditions which we sometimes get in NZ or Eng which doesn't require a spinner. Max 2-3 Tests a year. That should be doable and IMO Pandya would be ok with it without impacting his longevity.

its a remarkable transformation from a plodding lineup which we sent to the WC,there is hope we can do the same for our ODI and Test team too.

We still won the WC. What does this say about other teams ... Lol

at any world cup out of 5,6 competitive teams.. 2 or 3 fizzle out immediately and only 2/3 seriously end up competing..
