Punjab win 3rd Unofficial ODI by 10 wickets and win the series against Namibia

Punjab actually has a very good T20 team.

Likes of Nehal, Naman are good T20 batters, Anmolpreet too has added powergame.

They have allrounders like Sanvir & Ramandeep who hit big and can bowl few overs of medium pace. Harpreet Brar too is a decent spinner.

Where they lack are fast bowlers..they need to bring back Simarjeet, support Gurnoor & Arshdeep is already there. Markande too as a spinner is quite good. If not Simarjeet then try to bring in Kartik Tyagi. Sid Kaul is 34 years old and has no future left.

Both Simarjeet and Tyagi are wasting time with Delhi & UP respectively.

How the hell is Preity Zinta as powerful as Ambani, Adani, India cements, GMR etc :hmmmm: SRK I can give benefit of doubt.

she should sell it off.

Zinta holds only 23%.

No one is as "powerful" as Adani/Ambani based on their past & present connections in India! You could argue Tata Trust is a more powerful "entity" but they don't really operate that much in political circles.

Eye test is B so far: first season or IPL. Same thing was said about legend Dube.

Yes ,but first impression, not saying he's a proper batsman

He looks to have power and picks length quite quickly, obviously one more season to make an opinion

NY bridged the gap otherwise Pak T20 side is a joke..

India would have smoked 220+ in Dallas against them.. where they lost to US.

They don't have the players to match our firepower.

NY was a golden opportunity for them served to them on a platter by ICC and inept BCCI a dodgy pitch takes out batting firepower and bridges that gap.

In longer formats yes we are far superior but in T20s without Bumrah it's not certain that we will beat them over a series. They almost beat us at Melbourne 2022 and kicked us out of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup. Losing 152/0 to them with Bumrah & Shami despite the Dewbai conditions also wasn't a good look.

That was a side in its peak ... Current Pak team is a shadow of a side that was in 2021 and 2022 in T20.

Shaheen is trundling. Naseem is bowling at mid 135k's.. Shadab used to be gun back then now a laughing stock and full tossiya with a bulging belly.

Rauf Tepiya is not express anymore due to his old age.

Bumrah is still Gujju despite what @Lord says.

It literally says ' from punjabi family' on Bumrah's wiki page.  He was born in Gujarat, but his family roots are from Punjab.

In recent interview of Arshdeep.

We saw you doing the bhangra with Virat Kohli after the final but why didn’t Jasprit Bumrah join you guys?

Arshdeep Singh: It’s very rare to see Jassi bhai’s emotion. But after the win, he was also very emotional. His family was with him. He is not expressive when you compare him with a typical Punjabi. He expressed a lot after the win and it was good to see. Usually he has a straight face whether he takes a wicket or delivers yorkers. It was different to see him expressing his emotions.

Punjab is v.good domestic T20 side, they have batter who could bowl and some decent domestic level t20 allrounders.

Dhir and Wadhera (MI) are good batter who can hit ball, Dhir looked decent in IPL too playing at #3 when Sky was out-injured.

He never looked overwhelmed and was able to keep-up his SR even under pressure as well. Wadhera seems to have gift of timming specially in leg-side.

They lack fast bowling, think at one time they were playing mostly spinner in their playing 11 in SMAT.

An allrounder and a WK-batter in top, have a leg-spinner in as well and few good domestic level allrounder , their template is v.sorted.

Pak batting alway was a problem anything above or near to 170 against a decent bowling was a up-hill task for Pak.

When batting first the Rizwan and Babar pair would take up as many balls as they wanted and get to some score and then it was up-to some1 else to play 20-30 ball 30-40 runs innings to set-up them near to 150-166.

Then their bowling would try to pull it off, their bowling had the perfect template for t20s if there are no mystery or malinga/pathirana kind of bowler.

Rauf is still rapid he was bowling into 150 kmph last 50 over wc, problem has been lack of wkts up-top that creeps the pressure on bowler who know their batting is no good against a 170 is target.

50 over wc and this t20 wc as well we have seen their bowling was capable to puling things back in last overs. this wc Ind was around 80 runs in 10 over they pulled it back.

Against us they pulled back what was a simple run a ball win.

kicked us out of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup

Arshdeep dropped a sitter. Match would have been over. They were also meandering at 60 odd after 9 overs and then Chuhail came to bowl and smoked by their gary sobers Nawaz. The number of school boy errors we did in that match, dew notwithstanding should be a topic for phd

Don't forget eggsperienced Bhuvi giving away 19 runs in 19th over leaving only 7 for Arshdeep.

I shudder to think what'd have happened if he played this WT20

Punjab's pace reserves look poor.

Only gurnoor looks ok,but his style of bowling is probably not suited to Indian conditions.

Punjab's pace reserves need improvement, but Gurnoor could adapt and thrive with proper adjustments.
