But he simply stalled the innings. He didn't do anything other than hand the match on a platter to Aus. And this is is not the first time he has done that. He was meek against Pak both in 2022 WT20 and the Asia Cup match against Pak in 2021. He simply goes into his shell when under pressure. In IPL he does the same too where he seldom plays at the rate required and puts additional pressure on his team. It's time to move on from him and hope selectors see that he doesn't bring much to the table. With Pant back, we don't need KL as a wkt keeper or a batsman.

 

yes we needed consolidation but he completely shut shop. It effected the whole mindset of the team.

We've turned the corner with this new aggressive mindset & approach which Rohit has backed. So let's get players who play the same way rather than go with has beens who have shown time and again they won't change.

Perhaps but I don't see them picking Pant and Samson as the 2 keepers. 

It's either gonna be Pant and KL or KL and Samson.   There's nobody else to play as WK/bat

Yeah. He doesn't play tests anyway and I think will go easy on T20Is too from now till 2026 preps start. There are just 6 ODIs before CT. 

I don't know why BCCI pays him 5 Cr if he can't even play important white ball games.

Pant and Samson are much better. I'll even go with Pant and Jurel. KL has regressed massively despite the team management backing him so long. Enough with KL Rahul - the @$$hole reminds me of how we handed the WC trophy to Aus. And that meek, scared, gutless, confused expression is even more infuriating :mad:

Could offer Sanju T20 series and retain Pant KL for ODIs..  I think selectors will definitely put Pant forward for ODIs initially even if he is a backup to KL.

Or Play Pant at 3 in ODIs too in Kohli's absence and give gloves to Kela at 5.

Not sure Jurel is in the reckoning at all.  I think Samson should be given a run but let's see.

Don't think Pant has the game for #3 in long formats. 

 

I wanted to see Sai at #3.   Dude is going to be short changed after such a stellar start to his ODI career.

Pant has had Negative PR post WC... Guess sympathy ran out post T20 WC.

He is entering Jadeja territory in terms of Hate in LOIs.

A bad LOI series could be The end for Pant the LOI player too.

Pant should bat at 4 in ODIs and Sai at 3. Pant would be a better fit in ODIs as he will get the time to play himself in, which he doesn't get in T20s. He may not be a great fit for T20s but should be given a chance in ODIs for a few series.
