There are no structural changes needed in Indian team at all.It is critical for people to stop making players who are not playing or selected into Bradmans and Malcolm Marshalls.

 

Which serious talent was not backed by previous regimes. Dravid was criticized for two things ruining growing fast bowling culture and trying to fit KL Rahul who is no superstar into all formats and rightly so.

 

This guy Gambhir already has brought his KKR captain Iyer. Iyer's days as International player should have ended once he was dropped from England series. There is no upside in bringing this guy back into the fold.

 

IMO Gambhir already seems like he chewing more than he can bite.Lot of gas from his baloon already bursted when India won the world cup.

 

And it is about that series.If India get walloped then Gambhir will have serious issues.

IMO they should take more than 6 fast bowlers. It should be 18 man squad.5 tests is going to be  very very long series for fast bowlers.

Gambhir turned out to be fattu by making senior Rohit Kohli to play ODIs against SL. Had they not retired from T20, would have played in T20s too.

It was already decided by the BCCI that Rohit and Kohli will play CT25 and WTC Final 25.  

 

Coaches and Selectors have very little to no power when it comes to selecting or omitting Senior Superstars.

It will take 3 to 4 series before any new coach will be able to get a majority of the players that he really wants. 

 

We will get a better idea about his true preferences in the next 3 to 4 months.

-- One has to be blind not to notice how the stardom has badly affected indian team

      Manipulative media houses doing PR day & night for select player, SM influence, IPL team influence  - making it difficult even for selectors &       

       management to touch such players & hanging on  even when it was clear they have past their peak

    - Crossing the line re: their authority in dealing with selectors, Coach , BCCI officials etc.  Why Mohindar was sacked from selection board, Why 

       Kumble was removed , How some arrogant Sooper star made a press conference just before a foreign tour and threw mud at selectors, BCCI           top brass , or  how selectors were made to send players playing from a SL tour in the middle as reserves . This never happened earlier . 

      How these egoistic stars treated some of their fellow team members , stars not following BCCI instructions to play domestic matches .

       

      These are the many ills of stardom and this needs to be curbed . We had enough of this with Dhoni, Virat  etc.  Consequence -Virat got sacked, 

      now Pandya has been put on notice , playing domestic has been made mandatory. So things will get sorted . Indian team does not such

     egoistic stars. Winning a series does not suppress these unwanted  happenings from team's perspective especially from a captain.  

     Just because someone is good , he cannot abuse his position and  start bossing everyone including top management. 

     Iyer has been included in 1 series as of now for ODI . He had a very good WC23.  One should point a finger if he gets selected for tests. 

     Right now Iyer deserves a chance in ODI Team.    

     The term is for 3 years , hence one series will not decide any coach's destiny.- Be it  Ravi, Dravid . Their tenure to be judged for entire tenure

     and apat from series wins , aspects like  what good they brought to team culture , team build up, building player pool etc.

agree to your statement- GG played rohit and virat to Gurantee that INDIA beats LANKA in ODI.

i would have liked if INDIA would have beaten Lanka with out Rohit and Kohli as I know samsons/washie/jaiswal/abhishek - these guys have the capability to make us win.
