Coaches ask players to do as he says, not do as he did! Else Brett Lees or Shoaib Akhtars would make great coaches.

Yeah, even Venkatesh Prasad despite being a trundler backed some fast bowlers.

 

I am not sure about Vinay Kumar...seems like a reserve guy. But hope he promotes fast bowlers.

Most ICFers (incl. myself) wanted GG as head coach.  If this is his choice for bowling coach, then I don't really know what to say.

All the initial excitement about Gambhir being the head coach took a sudden death hearing Vinay Kumar's name. Everybody's shitttting their pants now. I guess batting and bowling coaches in Indian team are just figureheads, they don't provide any input.

Ofcourse they do. Why else are they paid?  Bharat Arun did a fantastic job.

The dynamic between Kohli and GG is only part of it 

 

If a smart cricketing mind and powerful personality like GG, universally backed by ICF to be coach,  cannot get rid of seniors if they underperform ,  then all the criticism of Dravid will look pretty tame in hindsight and they'll have to credit Dravid through gritted teeth.

No holds barred. If gambo does the same as dravid then he will receive all kinds of colourful remarks. He won't if he fights for change and gets removed in the process ofcourse. Players hold too much power these days.
