Gautam Gambhir has become coach of Indian Cricket Team. Here are some rules that he may implement:

- Only merit will matter.
- Your PR won't matter (Rishabh Pant shaking)
- Chhapri culture not allowed.
- Team targets before Individual targets.
- Woke behaviour won't be tolerated.
- If you are playing against Pakistan, abusing Pakistani players is mandatory. Those who won't will be dropped.

Pant's records in short format go against him. He lacks composure and balance in his shots. Test cricket allows him to steady up and get to his best.

Pant looked quite better in Odis though

Can't be so sure about his performance in Odis,as Odis give him much time to settle and pace his innings

He is one those old school aggressive batsman who take time initially, once set they are the last ones bowlers would wish to bowl at

T20s,yes he has been quite poor

Congrats GG! It feels like Indian cricket is stepping into a new era.

If nothing more, the “team” will begin to get priority over “individuals”.

I doubt KL will get that much backing despite having LSG connections particularly given how poor he was this year.

GG is a big fan of Samson. He has often called Samson the best batter in the top 4, irrespective of whether he keeps wickets or not. Given Pant's poor returns in whiteball formats, GG will back Samson to replace him, more so if Samson has a good Zim tour.

Pant looked good in Odis before accident

That will be unfair if he's dropped straightaway from Odis as well before actually testing him

Agree, but Samson has done well in ODIs too. They should test both of them and see who does better.

They should get rid of KL for good in white ball cricket

Agree... But the last point is a bit over exaggerated.  :cantstop:

Another Twist BCCI wants Zak or Balaji:phehe: @Mosher @Suhaan @express bowling

Zaheer khan suicide ka dusra naam hai

But what to say we never had a history of producing good quality pacers

After Bumrah Shami Ishant and even Siraj Umesh we will have quite a few to guide the next crop of pacers

Zaheer khan bas apna usual g@@ndupana na karey ,our body our choice our pace our losses:facepalm:

Is Gambhir the youngest ever Head Coach in Indian Men cricket history?

I think it was Kapil Dev...he too was around 39-40 years old when he became coach.

BTW..if we extend this to U19 then Venkatesh Prasad became coach at age of 35.

Well gg is a born winner. Has won every tournament. T20 and wc. World number 1 in tests etc. Maybe only missed champions trophy iirc. Won ipl with 2 different teams. He is just a winner.

I am totally against Zaheer. He belongs to the camp of cutting down pace and bounce for longevity. Known to be a very lazy chap.

Don't know much about Balaji's views.

Way better than Vinay Ko Maar. Zak was rapid in his early days and slowed down due to injuries. Still was quite a good bowler in his hey days. Mentored a young Ishant early on.

and he proved pretty poor as mentor to Ishant.  Ishant had declined badly trying to emulate Zak.
