Shooting is a very volatile sport. A mm can knock you out. IMO the team will win some medals. They appear to be better prepared compared to the last time around. There will always be talking heads to say something is wrong.

He's our best hope IMO. Has done well in 2 stages this year - in the mixed and men's team as well.

One more thing....Mocking of athletics in school.

 

Now admittedly I was in school a long long time ago - ancient.  Maybe things have changed.

 

However there were teachers in school who always denigrated athletes and praised the nerdy kids who memorized stuff.

 

These teachers need to be warned in front of the school assembly and on furthur violations fired with bad recommendation. Their teaching careers need to end.

 

Teachers in general need to be shown the real world - like say a factory shop floor - where you insult a union worker and you can be physically beaten up outside the gates. That is the real world. It is easy to insult students who are powerless.

 

For example there was a male teacher in our school with reputation for being very strict and caning this kid or that. Bought some land outside the town for a poultry farm..... But that area is tribal. Probably got into an argument with the tribals about the land. They found his decomposed body with multiple wounds from iron "pahars" in the stomach. Dealing with tribals is not like caning kids. He probably found out too late. Again a lot of this is third hand info - but he was in the school, did buy that land and was murdered there.

this will change as india becomes richer.

 

for a poor country, studymaxxxing is the only way to jump social classes. even the other asian countries had that.

Fourth place now. Below par shooting from Deepika. She's the senior most member with 3 Olympics under her belt - pretty poor shooting from her. Anyways not that it was unexpected. 12 arrows to go.

And 4th place it is. Ankita Bhakat ranked 11th with Bhajar Kaur finishing poorly on 22nd and Deepika in 23rd place. Top Korean smashes the World record and the Korean in second place beats the previous Olympic Record as well. 

 

Koreans as usual miles ahead of the competition.

Archery Women Team: A semifinal is there for the taking for Team India as the top 4 are way better than rest of the field. A bronze can be expected.

Archery Woman Individual: No hope for a medal. Korea 1-2 is way too strong and China is also ahead. Only a miracle can bring in medal here.

Yes and yes, we finished 4th, top 4 teams directly in QF, rank 5-12 compete for other 4 quarter finalists.  Play Korea in Semis if we make it.
