Bigg Brother Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 That's why I don't hype selection of coaches and the staff. Only Jaiswal is making me watch Indian Cricket otherwise hardly anything is exciting about Indian Cricket after wc-23 final fiasco.. raki05, Norman and Kron 2 1

rollingstoned Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Appears as if bcci has relented to his coach choices. Ten doeschate and Morkel will become fielding and bowling coach. Nayar was someone they had already okayed. express bowling 1

You give them Rohit and Kohli's berth and you get the helpers of your choice. One thing is pretty clear for quite some time now. Even if the most focused and objective individuals on Planet Earth become the Coach and Chief Selector, they won't be able to remove the Senior Superstars of their time. There are too many super-strong stakeholders in cricket who want to milk these Superstar brands for as long as possible and they weild a lot of power and clout. We have to make peace with this aspect. What we can't afford is ... non-brands like Avesh, Mukesh, Chahal or even Jadeja type players getting this type of preferential treatment. For a long time of around 15 years they selected foreign coaches. Shastri and Dravid are the only 2 Indian coaches in the 2000s barring stop gap ones. Rajput got us the 2007 WC in his short stint. 34 minutes ago, Nikhil_cric said: Shastri is questionable as head coach. he wanted to play 2 spinners at Lords. The biggest issue with Dravid is that he did not try to develop any new strike bowlers barring Arshdeep in T20Is. And strike bowlers define the strengths of teams. raki05 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Dravid was jhand just because we won wt20 people have started missing him. We won inspite of him and not because of him, him playing doobey in all matches was absolute pathetic decision ,and who can forget famous wc 23 final as well as playing Siraj ahead of Shami.May be next coach will be shite but that doesnt waived off dravid’s chtiyapa , good riddance i would say. You can put rohit as coach and we could still have won Team Was strong. Rahul did sutlaa We need a foreign coach tbh or someone who will select on merit and not give too much power to sooperstars. Someone who can stand up to them.

I could say the tactics laid by the visionary Rajput are being used even today, like left arm swing with new ball, using left and right handed batsmen and all rounders. Likes of Dravid are just doing footnotes of his work.
Number Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 To be fair can't expect a coach to drop Rohit or Kohli. If someone blamed Dravid for Kohli/Rohit not retiring, he was wrong. That's beyond the control of coach. Gollum, cricspirit, Chakdephatte and 2 others 5
Prabhdeep Singh Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 2027 WC is in SA so could be difficult for Rohit and maybe Kohli but he has a good record there

Gambhir has had public tensions with Kohli in the past and has a strict headmaster image. He's just trying to mend bridges with the seniors so they can have a healthy relationship. Nothing wrong in showing confidence in senior players at the beginning of his stint. What else was he supposed to say? Wait for a few months to pass judgement on his coaching and selections. Hope you are right. raki05 and AuxiliA 2
