putrevus Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Coaches cannot be just judged on trophy wins. They have to be judged on the template they have set for India cricket moving forward too. express bowling and Norman 1 1

Likes of Dravid are just doing footnotes of his work. You'd be wrong. This visionary was fired even by Afghans within a year.

R!TTER Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 So everything's in spite of the coach/man manager? Why even appoint them then? Why is Kirsten given do much credited for arguably the best Indian side ever that won at home?

R!TTER Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 And? The team we had won in spite of him then, didn't they? If we take your argument!

It all started with 2014 ODI Series win in England. India used to be below average Touring team prior to that across formats.
R!TTER Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 You're saying Rajput's overrated right, citing a minnow team as example? Then why does that not apply to Kirsten or really any top team with a great set of players?

But considering that neither BCCI nor Dhoni/seniors wanted to extend his term probably means he didn't do much

We won CB in 2007/08 . Chappell may have been a terrible man manager but I think he deserves some credit and wanted to move our cricket in a different direction.

His is that running away? Why bring it up if it's before wt20? He had won nothing at the time or are you implying he was sought after even though he hadn't won anything? If he is so great why didn't they ask him to stay after wt20.

He had been coach only for 2 years at that point in time. Also, are you suggesting that a coach is only worth it if he has won something ?

I don't rate him one way or other.Couldnt develop players nor win anything special. His only achievement is winning the wt20 which even Rajput has done. Sandz 1
MediumPacer Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 He knew after this a long aus tour is coming so he ran away. Kron 1
