 24k tonnes is 0.024 million tonnes.

 

BD grows 34.x million tonnes and consumes 35.x million tonnes of rice. Mostly self sufficient here. 

 

GoI would say we can't cripple BD by banning rice exports but would only attract bad headlines. Just wondering about GoI's thinking here.

Thinking is very simple. This is hostage situation for hindus in Bangladesh. We can't practically just go in. We cant also start squeezing them since they will start punishing hindus. So it's complex. 

 

How does this play out. India waiting for trump to take over. India knows younus days numbered. India can damage Bangladesh in ways one can't imagine. Arakan army uprising in south is purely RAW at play. 

 

Economic squeeze and lack of election hurting Bengalis will cause upturn in next 2 years. 

 

So it's waiting game with slow squeeze. Can't take hard calls now.

If neighbours run “India out” campaigns, simply because they hate Hindus kaafirs and either will execute or want to execute mass conversion/killing of Hindus, in response, Our so called Hindus start running “Modi Out” or “BJP Out” campaign.
