He was installed by Biden admin, Trump may not be very keen on him. Yunus has been running to China in the last few months. Meanwhile Awamis are back on street. Not once have they meddled with our democracy, or even voiced political opinion whilst in duty, forget coups. Our top generals just do their duty and once their watch ends, go back to living like middle class civilians, no perks or fancy lifestyles. Generals in other countries deal in billions of dollars post retirement and mingle with the elites. Our people don't realize how selfless, incorruptible and noble our army personnel are. All they ever know in life is sacrifice, for the welfare of others. Indian society as a whole may have become decadent but there is at least one idealistic wing and luckily that happens to be our military. The times in late 90's...when we used to go to our hometown...traffic jams were pretty common. At once incident, our bus was in jam in month of April for 2 hours, and small kids were crying for water/milk but there was no source of that...no policewala to manage the traffic. A military truck ahead of us, full of jawans got down and started regulating the traffic...they also shared their water/food with the folks in the bus so that they can feed their babies...within 30 mins the traffic was cleared and vehicle movement became normal. One more incident where, couple of Army jawans happily shared their train seat with me when I had to travel for 17 plus hours in an emergency with no confirmed ticket and lot of luggage (was a student then so didn't had much resources). They even got up in early morning hours to help me with my luggage as the stop was only of 2 mins. There are many selfless acts like these which has helped them gain trust and respect across the country. People may get scared/worried by looking at the police, but there is a sense of security when an Army person is around. You wont find it anywhere else. Edited May 24 by singhvivek141
straighttalk Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Bangladesh is not a gone case..there are enough people in there who are secular and Muslim and a pro India faction..even though there is an upsurge in fundamentist Islamic forces...a better approach would be to ensure we have a good relationship with the people. Avoid getting excited by stupid social media posts and ensure these Islamic forces are defeated.. Essentially saying we should support the secular Bengali culture and defeat the Islamic fundamentalism rather than creating a sworn enemy on our eastern border. Just like Bengali Hindus on our side resist communalism..there are Bengali hindus and a good number of Muslims who resist Islamic radicalism on their side but its a tough fight for them and they may not win Real McCoy 1
