BD youth are celebrating all over reddit etc. there is no nation in modern time which has survived this kind of anarchy. Even iraq backed by US has gone into complete meltdown.

Stability is extremely important for the modern nation. Bangladesh will never recover from this, they are doomed.

BD has always been religious. That is the problem they have over 75 percent literacy rate more than Pakistan and Afghanistan. Imagine a country with over 75 over throwing an elected government. The religion took over country for them. I remember seeing blood flowing on streets during Eid.  Religion education for Muslim countries will trump nationalism. Breaking of their own freedom fighter is another example.

Perfect example of what religious extremism does to any country.

Many western countries like US has religion as well. U.S. politics also revolves around religion and they take oath on bible as well. Depends on where stop with religion is the question.

If you understood the origins of the Pakistan movement and the 2NT then what is happening In Bangladesh would not surprise you in the slightest.

Saw videos of an Awami league MP being burnt alive, Mashrafe Mortaza former captain and sitting MPs house being burnt and Litton das' house facing the same fate too.

Gonna be a long couple of nights. As far as political violence goes Bangladeshs make everyone else in the region look like Kindergarten kids. Their army had killed Mujibur Rehman and his entire family of 40+ people back in '71, save for Hasina who happened to be in India at the time.

Wtf? Let me guess, Litton because he is Hindu? Also, don't they hail Mashrafee similar to Dhoni for bringing their cricket where it's at (or was before it fu*ked up again)?

Are you sure this happened. Lot of fake news on social media. If it happened, I shudder to think what'll happen to minorities there

Ya. Lot of fake news among a lot of real news too.

The advent of generative Ai and deep fakes is not helping matters. We can't afford Hindus and Christians to be targeted there as they have nowhere to go but India.

And even though India is not in a position to handle such an influx but you can't ignore innocents being massacred. Very difficult position to be in.

How about focusing on people in our own country first? India has no obligation to intervene in other country's matters

Problem in this case whether we like it or not, we're going to be involved. What do you do if there're crores of people on your doorstep who're being slaughtered? It's bound to spill over and we better start planning. Turning a blind eye won't help.
