I have seen this first hand. At Nagpur on my way to Delhi. An old Tamil couple were sitting in reserved seats. 4 thugs boarded and asked them vacate the seat. They were left standing. I was too young to raise my voice. Didn't know Hindi as well.

That's mostly due to lack of fear of police/RPF.

 

Few states following the JP movement started using different means to divide and polarize the society to remain in power. 

If the rowdy people have the governments which will protect them at all costs, the hooliganism or power of superiority kicks in.

 

UP used to be a hotbed of criminals, now situation has tremendously improved. Even the high crime rate cities are under control now as there is fear of police action. 

 

Some states like Gujrat, Haryana were able to overcome this easily. Dense populous states will take time to pickup the pace.

I am north Indian and have spent good enough time in South India..and have made good friends there..and even staying in US have good south Indian friends..as well as North Indian friends..

We are all Indians first..these unnecessary divides are just political and foreign interests agendas..please refrain from falling into their trap..

The very reason of opening this thread was to poke insults at southies. As a true Westie, I object to it. I also prefer South India and South Indians as they are mild mannered, have more civic sense, don’t smell or urine and onions all the time, most of them are educated and speak well and respectfully, use less oil in food etc
