How Umran Malik is plotting his comeback path

I don't think he's wrong here or his intentions aren't at question

He wanted to say his body needs to get strong by sending down few overs in FC cricket and get his body strong by playing more cricket

It's upto the selectors and TM to fast track him or don't waste him long in domestics, what's in his hand he should use it properly

Tyagi is one example ,who is continuously away from domestic cricket be it for N number of reasons, suddenly shows up in IPL only to expect he will play most of the matches

Why selectors would trust a guy like him who doesn't seem to play domestics and only IPL(there too he's 95% of the times seen on bench)?

I agree that his intentions are mostly correct.

But we shouldn’t waste the next 3-5 years only preparing and conditioning his body for longer formats. Brett Lee wasn’t wasted in his initial years just to prepare him for tests. He almost gave the impression that he needs Mayank to grind it out in domestics for multiple years until he’s like 25 years and then he will have the next 5 years of productive international cricket.

Times have changed. I’d get him match fit for LOIs initially. If he recovered from his injuries and if he can bowl 10-15 overs with intensity (as per the NCA) then he should be drafted in ASAP for LOIs (with smart workload management there as well)

After that, I’ll be more selective with him and give him a chance to build his body for test cricket. That can go in parallel but if he has stamina n fitness issues, it’s more realistic to get him started for LOIs first instead of spending years hoping that he’s gonna be ready for tests.

More domestic cricket does not help express bowler, they do not have much time with that kind of pace. The USP of pace reduces with the time.

So TM and selectors needs to be smart with him, do not delay his entry to Intnl cricket too much and not to over load him at the same time.

Lee had advantage that Aus didnt bring to Ind for initial stages of his career and then when he played he had McGrath and Gillispe who could bowl longer spells and use Lee for short spell.

One reason Lance Moris didnt make his test debut in Ind was that he is used to bowling with 4 pace bowler pace line-up and he would bowl in small spells.

Not sure of the nature of Mayank's injury but its taking too long and they could have sent him to Duleep trophy to test a bit and if not feeling good they could have pulled him out.

No what's your problem kashmir wants to play for Pakistan, they prefer Pakistan better sporting tradition.

Kashmir is Indian territory, its not part of Pakistan.

Those who wish to play for Pakistan can cross the border with no return visa.

Nope kashmir is seperate nation in the heart of kashmiris.. So we need to allocate atleast a seperate cricket team, it's obvious they can never bring themselves to support India, their population just does not see themselves in the Indian team, how can they support Indian team.

The population you're talking about..they're significant in other states as well.

We cant cut every part of our nation coz we don't get their "support". And if we learn from history then doing in 1947 didn't help us either...we can't end up losing our land just to pacify few folks. We need to learn to stand up for ourselves rather than making compromises.

Every nation should have its own cricket team so kashmir can play for Pakistan or have its own cricket team it's obvious. Look at a kashmiri they look very different from Indians.
