rollingstoned Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Tests in pakistan are such a throwback to the days when slow burning tests and draws were a lot more common. I was bored shitless when Aus toured too because the game just wouldn't move. Lol. Ofc our batsmen can count themselves unlucky to never have a chance to fill their boots in both UAE and Pakistan, pujara would never have gotten out on those pitches and Kohli would have added at least 3-4 runs to hid avg imo. UAE pitches are still better, can be square turners (like against Eng in 2012) or at least break on days 4 and 5....quite tough against decent spinners. No rain/weather interruptions, no lost overs, and hence result oriented. Lots of runs but not at high rpo in first innings, batters have to grind a lot.
Tillu Posted August 23, 2024 Author Posted August 23, 2024 Murder case filed against Shakib A murder case was filed against Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan with Adabor Police Station in Dhaka yesterday over the death of a garment worker during the mass protest on August 5. Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, some top former ministers and lawmakers are among 147 named accused in the case. Shakib, a former Awami League lawmaker, was made No. 28 accused in the FIR. Rafiqul Islam, father of the deceased MD Rubel, filed the case also accusing at least 400 unidentified AL leaders and activists. In the case statement, the complainant alleged that some of the accused as per instruction directly or indirectly from some others opened fire while hundreds of students including Rubel were protesting at Ring Road in Adabod area on August 5. Rubel suffered critical bullet wounds and died of his injuries at a hospital after two days, the case said. Nazrul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Adabor Police Station, last night confirmed the case filing. Dailystar
nitinbwj Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Lol..bangla scored 98 off the last 20 overs. . They should try to get 70-80 run lead tomorrow. Pak might lose this or draw.

There was a decent grass cover on day 1 first session. They tried to make it a pace bowlers pitch I think. Even played 4 pace bowlers. But may be because of soil things didn't work as expected and it became even more of a belter, drier wickets start cracking by day 3. Edited August 23, 2024 by Number

Shakib was an AL MP, also Mashrafe Mortaza whose house was burnt down. Better these guys seek asylum in west, heard Shakib has set up base in USA. Papon, though he was a grade A clown. Hasina loyalist, his mother too was a big time AL leader who was assassinated by BNP/Jamaat. Lone Wolf 1

Uae pitches suited Pak cricket more, especially batsmen who wete strokeless wonders on pitches and outfields that didn't encourage stroke play. It was dream for people like Azhar Ali, Sami Aslam and misbah. That and Younis khan+ yasir shah meany they did better there than they would've in Pakistan. They lost in 2007 against Saf remember. Look at the stats of your fast jowlers vs Indian bowlers in tests. Naseem averages 34 in tests, bumrah is 22. Multiple indian bowlers average 27 or less. There is a height to be delusional my dude. If your coach himself is so delusional how can the team or players progress?

Pakistan has a young and inexperienced bowling attack. India’s bowling is more experienced and they have the best resources at their disposal.

And experience alone doesn't make anyone average 25 or less in tests, you need to be really really good. Also hasn't pakistan attack always been inexperienced since last 20 years? Which bowler has even gone on to get any experience at all? This inexperienced excuse has been used for 2 decades or more. Afridi has played almost same matches as Amir and more matches than Asif. He is only 6 matches less than Bumrah. Edited August 24, 2024 by New guy
