Win in SA was 5 years ago. And when did they beat Pakistan ?

2021 I think SA won the revenge series 3-0 in Highveld.

That being said I am all for Lankan resurgence.

Anything less than 2-0 sweep against NZ would be disappointing.

Crucial series for them.

They have struggled at home

Yep.  Apart from SA and Windies they haven't beaten teams even at home in the last decade.

Need to start winning in SL properly before talk of any resurgence.

Eng had a golden opportunity of completing the minnow bashing at home and enhancing the chances of securing WTC final berth.  But they blew it away in bizzare fashion.  Losing by 8 wickets.    Well Done SL, for having kicked out Eng early.  :hatsoff:

Bashing??

You call this bashing..

First match was very close and last match SL won it...

It could be be 2 -1 in Sri Lankan favour

Without Anderson and broad, english team is pias poor even in home conditions

Considering the points which you hv highlighted, there should be no excuses for Team Ind, in case they fail to win the test series in Eng next year.

RSA's disastrous test record in SC since 2015 often goes unnoticed. This despite having their greatest ever test spinner, Maharaj in this time period.

Every cycle, Eng will be touring either India or Australia, two main WTC F contenders. Knowing their usual post 2012 record in these 2 countries, qualifying for WTC F will always be a tough task. Getting blanked by your main rivals not only depletes your stock but that rival is the main beneficiary, double whammy.

Knowing ECB's control of ICC they will find a fix by having tours to India and Aus in same cycle, thus they can make every alternate final, and if final venue will always be England, they have a great shot at success.

They will get better; would be interesting to see what happens when Woakes/Stokes/Root retire probably in that same order?

TBH for English Fans, the WTF final doesn't mean much- for them they care more  about home series Test wins- especially the Ashes ( and away). If they dont make the final its not the end of the world for them

Yeah. They're the worst touring side in Asia over the last decade.

Steyn was a massive factor in their Asian success previously and it shows in their results.

Is India great without Bumrah. How did it do in finals against Australia.

England without Anderson and Broad are better than India without Shami and Bumrah in England by miles.

@wobblydoggy Was going on about why it's a bad Test match pitch when it can't last 5 days during England tour of India

Basically Oval Test lasted 7 sessions and a bit .   I suppose there was nothing wrong with this pitch though
