What is this recent hate against India/Indians on Twitter/SM

Many pravasis won't have a choice but kiss the ring. In my time abroad, I advised one and all I met that they should hedge their bets. Last 70 years were an anomaly. This will start to unravel at some point. We are not as evolved as we think. Once group think takes over and you are on the other side, you will be taken down.

One thing i feel has some basis in the truth.

 

Indian managers in the west hiring other Indians they know  and pushing out everybody else. People have caught on. Vietnamese are another community that does it.

 

Happens in a lot of blue collar jobs. The cleaning staff where I work is all from colombia. London does not even have that much of a colombian population. But with white collar jobs these are the jobs white people do want to do.

Colombian faculty are like that too. I have seen it - there are so few of them, but if one looks at their research groups, it is full of S. Americans and especially Colombians

there have been countries where talent migration is still rising to US (immigration), and the country is not showing much signs of economic progress: Mexico and Iran come to mind. this hypothesis by S. Vembu is reasonable, but there are exceptions

I can't for love of god understand why some of them don't keep investments in India. Have to keep some hedge.

I don't know about Iran, but Mexico is largely a blue collar immigration, also being US's neighbor plays a part. However, there is merit to this theory in India's case, as earlier the people who use to move out of India were only ultra rich high society folks, even upper middle class could not dream of studying or migrating abroad, but if you look at the last couple of decades lot of middle class people have been immigrating, going on student Visa with student loans which was almost impossible for normal people earlier, rise of H1B from the IT boom has been made possible because of the significant economic growth that has happened, we are still growing at 7% which in itself is not a small achievement, at this rate you double economy every 10 years; however, cannot disagree that we are underperforming, and have serious issues to sort out because India's potential is at CAGR of at least 10 which we are far from achieving at the moment.

 

Hence, we are seeing this hate because of increased number of Indians, they were there earlier too, but nobody cared because they were harmless, now they are occupying important positions with increasing numbers, we will only this hate continue to increase in the foreseeable future.

NRIs have  out priced a rupee earning chumps like me from Hyderabad real estate market. Cannot even imagine the state of normal teachers/ lab assistants/ nurses etc.,

 

They need to be encouraged to invest in productive assets like hospitals, industries and educational institutions.

 

Instead, their money is being dumped in real estate speculation. This is not at all helpful to the long term health of indian economy.
