Gollum
More than the margin, the intensity is surprising. We are going at first gear, Malaysians giving everything out there. Link to comment
Gollum
Regular matches against Europeans and Aussies has made us battle hardened. Physically, a tier above other Asian teams. Link to comment

Gollum
Malaysians hate us, they are like BD of hockey, are extra physical and aggressive against us. Last ACT in Chennai, were playing to injure our boys. So a sweet result. Link to comment

China invests heavily in all Olympics featured sport. Their women won silver in Paris, men were better than us in late 2000s and early 2010s (2008-12 to be more precise), so there is some hockey culture as well. This tournament is being played in Inner Mongolia, still has amazing facilities as per our coach and players (even from interviews of Pak coach). I won't be surprised if China has more number of astro turfs than India, Pakistan combined. Home advantage is playing a role here but IMO their men have the tools to become number 2 in Asia. East Asians have tremendous speed, agility, discipline, and good tactically (sporting IQ is high), efficient in set pieces etc as we also see in football. South Korean hockey team was legit top 4 in late 90s, early 00s often going toe to toe with the Dutch and Aussies. Edited September 11 by Gollum Link to comment
Gollum
Koreans leading 3-1 against Chinese. China missed so many opportunities in first 2 quarters. Link to comment
Gollum
Korea win 3-2. China unlucky with the umpiring in the final 10 seconds I think, lost net connection at that time. Edited September 11 by Gollum Link to comment

Since the 80s in cricket Bang, SL, Afg have all become good and given them tough times. Add some China, Japan, Korea to it as well. Link to comment
