Gollum
SF lineup Pak vs China Ind vs South Korea Despite topping the table we got the tougher SF opponent Link to comment
Gollum
Last year in Asian Games we beat them 10-2. But that was full strength India, AG win was necessary to qualify to Olympics. We have taken it light this time, experimental setup, while all other teams are desperate to win the trophy. Fulton even confirmed that against Korea in second half he instructed midfield and offence to not press much, so that our defence could be tested better. Link to comment

Then it would be India vs China in semis no? Or if Japan wins we would be facing Malaysia right. Edited September 14 by Tillu Link to comment

Though China and Korea have same points, and Korea has better goal difference, China finishes ahead of them due to winning more matches. China won 2, lost 3. 6 points Korea won 1, drew 3, lost 1. 6 points Rules for classification: 1) points; 2) matches won; 3) goal difference; 4) goals for; 5) head-to-head result; 6) field goals Tillu 1 Link to comment

Gollum
Pakistan leads India 82-67 overall H2H because of their legendary 70s-90s teams. But last 17 matches, we have won 15. One draw in Asia Cup after Tokyo Games where we sent mostly juniors, even Sreejesh was rested. One in 2018 CWG where they got lucky with an umpiring decision of PC in final minute to draw 2-2. 2016 their main team beat our juniors twice in South Asian Games, when our main team was in Rio prep. Last time they had an edge against us was in the 2013-14 period, but even there we beat them in 2014 Asian Games final in Incheon, courtesy Sreejesh's heroics in penalty shootout. For most of my childhood Sohail Abbas with his drag flicks tormented us. Now Harmanpreet is returning the favor with interest. Link to comment

Gollum
Fulton was saying that India and Germany will play 2 matches in New Delhi (pretty sure Major Dhyan Chand stadium) in October. And then India will fly to some European country to play a few rubbers in November. Don't see any official news but national coach must be privy to some developments. If former is true, international hockey will return to national capital after 14 years. Hope Delhi based ICFers like @randomGuy don't miss this opportunity!!!!
