Carlsen lost against Fedoseev (promising Russian guy who switched federations due to war)

Slovenia beat Norway 3-1.

I don't rate our women's team highly. China and Russia are far superior, China rested their top 4 players otherwise who could have stopped them? Imagine Hou Yifan playing lol.

Men's match should also be draw, only Arjun's game is left and looks dead draw to me. Uzbeks continue to punch above their weight.

USA's imports are too good, in women's division too but especially in men's.

ECB poaching cricketers is nothing compared to what Sinquefield has managed to do. The girl who beat Vaishali is a recent import from Uzbekistan.

Yeah Arjun missed a chance to go a piece up. Lost the advantage and now the game is done, still a draw is fair.

Tomorrow against US mens team

Vantika has been carrying the women in the past few ties.

USA's domestic talent isn't too bad.... Nakamura, Hans etc.

Caruana born and brought up in USA spent just 8 odd yrs in Europe and played for Italy during that time. But he learnt chess in USA.

Caruana's formative years were with Italian federation though.

They are good, but not nearly India/Russia good. Nakamura is their greatest domestic product (entirely made in US), nurtured in their system from prodigy to super GM.

Hard to imagine tiny Armenia has won 3 gold medals in the last 10-12 years. This was during Aronian’s peak years and before he switched federations.

We really need to hold steady now and not lose momentum.

Caruana with White will come hard at Gukesh tomorrow.

Pragg has not been at his best either.

Arjun and Gukesh have brought us this far.

19 has been the usual winning score for gold medalists in this new points system - 20 being the highest ever.

We are 17 currently - which means winning one and drawing another of the 2 remaining rounds should seal the gold for us.

But if we don’t prevail tomorrow, we have to rely on other results to be in our favor for a gold medal.

Has Kramnik gone senile ?  He filed an official complaint with FIDE.

He previously was after Nihal.

https://www.hindustantimes.com/sports/others/chess-vladimir-kramnik-s-cheating-claim-against-nihal-sarin-kicks-up-a-storm-101714933485487.html

His behavior is baffling especially given that he coached Gukesh and Pragg.

For those who follow his controversial championship against Topalov,  Kramnik took great exception at being accused of cheating by Topalov, when Kramnik had a special washroom exclusively for him during the match.

What a fall.

Till 2005 he was with the US and in 2007 he became a GM. Think if he was representing Italy today, one could say that Italy poached United States ka talent.

Nakamura, Hans, caruana are top 3.

Then you have sam shankland, ray Robson, samual sevian all American talent as well, 2700 or thereabouts.

Divya Deshmukh is looking quite good in her game. She has a bright future. Age on her side and quite an attacking and creative player. I think she could be a future women world champion.

Only Pragg can mess this up here if he can’t hold, otherwise Arjun is getting us 2 points.

Pragg has been well below par and is almost lost.

His underperformance may cost us a gold medal.

Aronian is trying to make a match out of an objective draw and deduce a mistake from Vidit.

We can still win 2.5-1.5 despite Praggs disastrous performance.
