Ajaz has such a dogged defence... We couldn't get through him in Kanpur albeit Pitch was turning slowly there unlike Galle.

They usually have at least 1 spinner who looks like he is lucky to play test cricket. Santner is following in the footsteps of Somerville and Mark Craig.

Looking at Santner's continuous failures in test format, glad to see Zampa not even make his debut, Aussies kept the sanctity of the format. Adil Rashid is another one, sucked as a test bowler though Karun Nair won't complain !!!!!

 

Rashid Khan too would get exposed if he plays longer format, can never forget the phainta Dhawan-Vijay gave him in that one off test in Chinnaswamy, after dismissing them in one session, these 2 added 200+ runs in 1 session. Gulf in class between Ashwin/Jaddu and their spinners was sealed for eternity.

You have to understand that for SENA teams the cupboard is usually bare for spinners so they have to make do with whoever they have if none are good enough.

What gets me is Santner is rated much much higher than Jadeja on ICF when hes no way near

IMO, Jadeja is a greater cricketer than every Kiwi except Hadlee. 

 

Anyday better than Crowe, Kane, Bond, Cairns etc. 

 

Santner is just a white ball guy (really good, will give him due credit), absolute loser in real format. The way he bowled in India in 2016 or in Aussies after that, he should be seen as a joke.

@Lord bhai, Jaddu gets a lot of hate on ICF because people confuse formats. They hold his white ball returns against him, and truth be told he was never a white ball cricketer, especially T20Is. 

 

In tests he is the best AR of this generation, comfortably better than the overhyped Stokes.

Regarding lack of ICC trophies, if first two WTC finals were held in Colombo, Dhaka, Abu Dhabi, never mind India.......Jaddu and Ashwin would have created records which wouldn't be surpassed in next 50 years of WTC finals. And India would have stomped both Aus and NZ, especially NZ.

Purane Kohli Gill were struggling even in India during last BGT in India.

I reckon Australia would have drawn 2-2 post Indore defeat.  We chickened out and prepared a flat bed in Amdabad.

Head opening was game changer move & it was stupid of them to bench him in initial games.

Last WTC result was well deserved win for AUS imo.

NZ win was a farce & that Pant ugly hoick when match was headed for a draw will keep haunting us until we win the damn thing.

Ahmedabad pitch was a chicken move bro, but even there we were better placed than them. 

 

Aus deserved 2023 WTC win more than Kiwis in 2021, that we both can agree upon. But conditions and our injuries (especially 23 with Bumrah, Pant unavailable) hampered us as well.

Yeah but point was that 2023 WTC team would not 100% win against Aus even  in SC.

That was possibly the weakest Indian batting unit assembled in last 2 decades.

We have been bolstered by ouster of PuRane & Gill finally coming closer to cracking Test cricket with Jaiswal emergence and Pant comeback.

 

Imagine PuRane Out of sorts Gill +Lolli + KS Bharat facing Australians even in Dubai.

It would be a miracle if we win.
