Hapless Pak, WI, SL, BD. Then weakened RSA earlier this year where he scored 3 100s in 2 tests. 

 

His record against Aus, Eng, Ind, RSA (first choice XI) even at home is mediocre. 

 

Overseas he has done nothing in challenging conditions (once got couple of 100s on flat Aussie pitches where even Ross scored 290). Helped NZ beat Pak in UAE in 2017 or '18, that was probably his only impressive feat. 

 

Forget Root, Smith...even declined Kohli is better than peak Kane, he could never do what Kohli did in last RSA tour on those joke surfaces.

Prime Pujara (till 2019) was an absolute monster at home, despite his poor overseas record he won us BGT in 2018 against the Aussie quartet at its strongest. No comparison at all.

Kane will have one last chance in October to end the debate about quality of his runs. Score big, impactful runs against Bumrah, Ash, Jaddu, KD in India and people will respect him more.

Kane is lucky he doesn't have to face Ind, Aus, RSA in 3/4/5 test series. Otherwise things will spiral down and he will face what Kohli had to in 2014 Eng, no good expose like a 4/5 test series.

Most likely he will skip the tour to protect his inflated avg…. He is anti kohli, kohli inspite of bad form keep playing most of the series and destroying his reputation in test cricket where as kane pick and choose the series.

Yeah he tends to do that. 

 

Kohli is a fool, he skipped Eng series (potential 500+ total runs, 2 centuries lost) when he had momentum from RSA tour. Kane is PhD in knowing which series to choose to maintain his stats.

High chance of Bengaluru test against NZ being rain affected, October not a good time because NE monsoon disturbance spills over to Bengaluru as well (remember 2015 RSA 2nd test?). Otherwise what they deserve is proper 3-0 phainta like we gave them in 2016, where even Rahane almost scored 200, Saha and Bhuvi toying with them, never mind our main guys.
