Yes he is a brilliant young player who needs to be in the radar. He can be the backup for Pant in Tests. It is better to invest on him but again we have Jurel as well so kind of a problem there. But again being a keeper does not mean he needs to don the gloves. India need to pick the best batters available from the domestic scene. We did play Karthik, Pant and Dhoni in the same playing XI at one time. If Pradosh Ranjan Paul continues to do good we cannot ignore him because he is a keeper.

What is the point of Harshit Rana playing Ranji?  Surely he should have made his debut in this series before heading to Australia?

It hints that he won't play third test as well.

Since selectors included him for BGT, they thought it's best if he plays some games in domestic instead of going to Australia with little to no practice.

He should have been with India A and played a few games to get accustomed to their pitches.

BCCI has picked him up. Now it's up coach and captain. Can't keep blaming bcci and selectors.

Who will you appoint captain in the current side? Don't want Bumrah as captain. Kohli won't be. Ashwin not a certainty in xi overseas. Jadeja?

Don't want best batsman to put under pressure. Smith had a good batting line up at his disposal and a fine bowling attack.
