Even in the 2022 series England scored 657 runs to which Pakistan relied with 570 runs in the first innings. So all is not lost for England which has a good batting depth. It's quite difficult to get a batsman out on these pitches.

 

The only reason England might still lose this match may be due to their Bazball approach. If they play attritional cricket, they will easily overtake the Pakistani score. Scoreboard pressure normally works only on helpful pitches not on benign cement roads like these.

Batting at 3.6 is just not optimal on these wickets. You're just taking time out of the game. Much rather be 450 all out in 4 sessions than crawl to 600 in two days.
