Pant is not a T20 player. His best format is Tests similar to Sehwag.

I think Pant in tests, KL in ODIs and Samson in T20s are the best option. Pant maybe in odis too but Rahul has a good odi game regardless of the final.

Not KL. I don't have any faith in him and I agree with Goenka when he said "we wanted players with winning mentality". KL will never win you anything. I would rather we go with Pant in ODIs as we won't die wondering. Pant may fail but he will never played the sort of knock Rahul played in 2023 WC final. India were 80 odd for 2 after 10 overs. The way Rahul batted it seemed we were 50/4!

 

I'm sorry but time has run out for KL. He may have good ODI numbers but when it comes to pressure situation, KL goes missing. Samson has taken the pole position in T20 with him and Jaiswal as the opening combo with Abhishek as the backup opener.

KL is a timid choker who shits his pants under pressure. Pant's 100 not out in the series decider against England was better than any ODI innings KL ever played.

Samson can be tried in ODIs too if he improves keeping.

Sometimes mixing with seniors can be harmful. It stifles your potential. I think Jaiswal is going through that as well in tests batting with Shahid afridi at other end
