Duryodhana was not evil to others, (he gave half of his kingdom to his friend Karna) his only fight was against Pandavas.He was born to Dhritarashtra who despite being the eldest son never got the throne as he was blind.He felt Pandavas did not deserve to become kings as they were born to younger son and he had a point. People underestimate Karna, he knew he was the eldest Pandav but never staked claim for the throne.If he did that they would be no mahabharta. Mahabharta is so complex with so many complex characters.It is rightly called fifth veda as it teaches about life, politics , the more you read Mahabharta the more deeper it takes you to understand the true meaning of life.
