deepdynamo Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 GG so far...pathetic ( apart from T20s which seems his best format atm) Tests: Won 2-0 vs BD (home) Lost 0-3 vs NZ (home) Lost 1-3 vs AUS (away) ODIs: Lost 0-2 vs SL ( away) T20s: Won 3-0 vs SL (away) Won 3-0 vs BD (home)

Yes, mostly on auto pilot with IPL superstars delivering game after game. Also, absence of Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja has opened a newdimension with multi skilled players getting backed. Lord 1

deepdynamo Posted February 12 Author Posted February 12 vs ENG 4-1 in T20s 3-0 in ODI Somewhat a face saver for GG after BGT debacle. vishalvirsingh 1
vishalvirsingh Posted February 16 Posted February 16 i would like to rate GG at 9/10 why - he picked Prasidh and Harshit rana over Mukesh kumar ( who was chetan sharma's favourite) and some other trundlers. - he picked Mayank Yadav and got him to debut and Mayank was a super hit. Had Mayank been fit , we would have won the INDIA Australia Series and GG would have got a 10/10 and everyone would be praising him. - he has tried to push rohit and Kohli to perform and in one test , he kind of asked rohit to relax and let jasprit captain. had jasprit been fit , we would have son the last test and drawn the series 2-2. - he was daring enough to pick washington ahead of a failing AShwin which not many coaches would have dared to do. washie scored some runs and gave some valuable support to Nitish reddy. - Nitish reddy was backed and we realised the potential that he possessed as a batsman. in australia to score a century on a fast pitch . had he got some support in batting , i guess only guy who supported him were jaddu and washington. our batting top order failed except in one match where yashasvi scored. so Nitish was probably the second highest scoring batsman from Indian team. i am actually suprised that Nitish is not in champions trophy as Hardik's stand bye. actually if hardik gets injured they will definitely fly Nitish and not consider Shivam Dube. Chamsi, deepdynamo, express bowling and 1 other 4
putrevus Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I don't think he is cutout for test cricket. His choice of coaches also has been awful too. Jingoism is the not the answer. deepdynamo, Lord and cricspirit 1 2
bowl_out Posted February 19 Posted February 19 We should have different coaches and captains for different formats. Domestic veterans like Chandrakant Pandit should be offered Test coaching deepdynamo 1
putrevus Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) People were whining about Shastri, he is 100 time better in tactics than this bozo , Shastri was just unlucky in big spots as coach. You could see plans under Shastri in test cricket. It is not like Gambhir is making hard decisions in selections either. He is not making job of captain any easier. Jadeja, KL Rahul should not be in any whiteball teams. This bozo is selecting KL Rahul over Pant. Edited February 20 by putrevus deepdynamo 1
maniac Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) Not impressed. More fluff than brains. Seems like he has the combo of negatives of both Shastri + Dravid while missing their positive qualities. Edited February 20 by maniac nevada and Lord 2
