Unfortunately that ship has sailed. Interim election results dont change trends. Republicans can't avoid the identity issue if there is an identity crisis.

True… many seem to be doubling down blaming demographics when it was the same demographics that gave them popular vote win (which they haven’t achieved in decades) & a trifecta. 
 

as Clinton said it’s the economy stupid.

Zohran delivers a fiery speech. Dhoom soundtrack playing at the end lol.
 

His focus on rent control / rent stabilization could create problems and end up creating a dual market and raising rents elsewhere. But nevertheless this is great to see in this political environment.
Anyways instead of buses, I hope he focuses at least a little on the subway system lol.


NYC is without a doubt the absolute pinnacle of the US / finance capital of the entire world. A socialist coming to power here in the most capitalist & cosmopolitan city you could imagine is gonna be interesting.

Actually I see it in very simple terms. US is in Competetion to China. Any consultant will tell what is supposed to be done to win it.

1. Make yourself better.

2. Make China weaker.

 

Holistically (despite screwup) What Trump is trying to do is just point 1 in name of MAGA.

 

Its on point 2 where countries other than China comes in picture. He forgot point 2. Because if China gets stronger, no matter how much effort you put on point 1, There is pottential that Chaina can do better for itself than US. 

 

And on point 1, all this anti immigration and flawed tarriff policies simply weakened US. Thats biggest flaw in Trump policy. Because anti immigration is actully reducing your own Human Capital. Human Capital is one which makes you better on gathering other Capital. If you cant manage your own Human Capital to your advantage, what are chances that you can manage other types of Capitals. 

 

MAGA is never going to happen unless someone smart enough to do point 2 as well as make use of Human Capitals comes into power in US of A. All this inflation , problem social issues are just bi product of screwed up policies of useless American leadership

I'm specifically looking at higher education here. So many universities rely heavily on influx of international students to manage indirect spend, also these students pay out of state tuition fee (despite coming from weaker economies) and subsidize education for locals indirectly.

 

Either Trump is a genius or he's mind numbingly ignorant.

As I said, To win its just two pronged approach. By tarriffs(India Brazil), and by siding with Ukrainians, He made China stronger. Today, you have Putin Modi and Lula ready to have dinner with Xi. So effectively China became stronger.

 

while chucking out those nationals on basis that you dont need them beacuse some rich guy showed them a AI bot who will do all the jobs which these immigrants can do (from taxi to house cleaning to shop floor to factory floor) has added disconet to all of Latin American countries +India at grass root level. Remember, a taxi drivers may have a child who may be smart enough to study medicine/STEM. You lost on that.  On top, you add tarrifs. Tarriffs should have been only on China that way manufacturing would have shifted. But by tarrifs on everyone, Now there is no need to shift manufacturing from China and that made China even stronger.

 

On Uni front, In US the billionaires are old money(AMericans who survived and made fortune in 1929) or these Immigrants who find Uni as entry point to America. You have to be outright stupid not to just look at ratio of Colonial American created billionaires  in past 30 years to population vs Uni educated billionaires vs immigrant population(Specifically ones with Indian connection)

Trump is businessman. Statecraft is not Business.I am not a American, but objectively two things should send warning bells ringing for Republican

1. Margin where Dem won and were expected to win

2. How many Dems flipped a Republican seat if any. 

 

And based on simple google, I can say every Republican politician will have by now realised that Trump MAGA base  will gurantee a loss whether they support Trump or oppose him. Time for them to go back on drawing Board.
