What did he say there.. reciprocal.. all these tariff wars is just posturing…

Reciprocal is here. Think GoI knew it. UK is worried that VAT system which is flat 20% tax on all products will mean US will apply 20% tarrif on imports

Posted

GoI anticipated it which also explains the tax boost to fire internal consumption and hopwfully rbi rate cuts to add around 2% to gdp growth.

India can weather this. Export oriented east asia are much more impacted.

I hope modi got a clean **** to do what he wants on the geopolitical front with bd etc.

The litmus test is the extradition of Headley. Would be a new page in Indian US relations if they agree to extradite him.

TBH, I dont want any treaty. Its US, It will send us one terrorist but what will it asks in return. Adani, Doval and Shah are already part of cooked up case by Terrorist Pannun as per DoJ.

This is slippery slope. Our importantant personalities(Not Just Political but all spheres) may be arm twisted to do US bidding. What if they want us to arrest and extradiate some Russian living in India.

I dont know if this extradition is coming as part of some bilateral binding. NO NO NO NOo.

Never gonna happen.  He’s the big fish. We will get some small ones

Trump has apparently offered F-35 5th gen fighter aircrafts to India. I think we can take the offer.
Ofcourse, SU-57 from Russia suits us better given the proximity of India and Russian Technology. But I think in this context, F-35 will give us an edge in terms of Indo-US relations.

Taking f35 means having usaf personnel in your air base for servicing. No thanks

If we reduce tariffs on Harley Davidsons or some American gas guzzler cars which are hardly bought by Indians, get Fighter jets, nuclear infra, Oil and Lentils (ban Kanedian lentils I say)  from ISA, India will be least impacted on its exports by the reciprocal tariffs. Even CNN is praising :woot:

I get that.

That's why I expect Modi to negotiate on transfer of technology as well.

If US doesn't give us that, then SU-57 is the way to go coz Russia is ready to xfer the technology.

Although SU-57 is slightly weaker in comparison to F-35 in terms of offensive capabilities.

If usa didn't agree to tech transfer for f35 with Canada or uk, they won't for us either.

Su57 isn't weaker than f35 in offensive capabilities. It's far superior. It's just slightly less stealth overall

We don’t need F35. Only a stupid will agree to F35 after Tejas GE engine experience.

Tejas production is extremely slow. Day before yesterday Air Chief general blasted HAL for their delays.

Given China is using 5th gen fighters and potentially will give to Terroristan as well. India has to do something.

F35 is tried and tested, Israel used it against Iran, and went undetected by SU-400 radar system. Su-57 though used in Ukraine war.

Let's see what unfolds, I guess it's better to have squadron for both.

Tejas production is slow because it uses GE F404 engine which was supposed to have been delivered .
Biden administration effectively stopped GE delivering them engines. Think 70+ Tejas can be delivered the day we get engine

I think f35 india will be "intetested" in and then settle for apache and posoidon.

Real goal is importing lots of ge engines.

India won't buy F35, we should never do it. Su 57 is not even a 5th gen fighter.

Bring the AMCA directly under PMO like we did with missile program.

If we want a defence deal with US but more attack Heli but no F35

PS: roll the heads at HAL
