Like I've always contended, the whole "dismantling the establishment" is a ridiculously incomplete notion. It is more like calling the current establishment a pejorative ("deep state"), dismantling it, and replacing it with your own establishment.

My point is, we dont want to become like EU - the same deal with Europe is what destroyed most of Europe's arms industries - from british to german to swedish, all being deeply embedded with and partially owned by yankee arms corps. Only France retained some semblance of independence and that is mostly due to deGaulle & his next great successor Mitterrand were both frothing at the mouth napoleon-esque anglo-hater and hated the murricans and poured money into companies like dassault, snecma, DCNS to make sure the frogs had a seperate blue chip military industry of some capacity.

In India, we are doomed to become colonized by US military companies and thus, US itself like Europe has been. 200K fired federal employees aren't anectodal. I am pretty sure our understanding on macroeconomics isn't better than the Atlanta Fed. Firstly, salaries account for only 4% of govt spending. They haven't cut spending when they are going to raise the deficit by 4.5 trillion, they have just given that money to the top 1% while planning cuts to the social safety net of middle class & have nothing. 

 

The last time GOP passed a massive tax cut, deregulated everything you had 2008 recession. They are going to throw thousands out of their jobs with historically low unemplpyment, cut billions is safety net. Just wait see what it will do to consumer spending the next few quarters while they piss on people & call it trickle down econmoics!
