yes someone shared this in one of the thread. Actually there was a crazy talk of removing "birthright citizenship" if the parents are not citizens (both illegal and legal if i am right). Trump has been consistently pushing this agenda. I am sure he will try again. He can issue an executive order. But it will be challenged in court for sure.

Many countries have abolished or have restrictions for birth-based citizenship.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_tourism#:~:text=The United States%2C Canada%2C and Mexico all grant unconditional birthright,by naturalizing in another country).

A lot of techies used to scamper for on-site projects during last trimester and give birth to US citizens. Stop that gravy train

Crazy or not, I think he has more than enough political momentum to do it.

I doubt it will see the light given the country was built by immigrants.

The article says atleast one parent must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

I'm assuming it's permanent residency. I'm not sure if other vusa holders fall into this category.

@vvvslaxman can help there.

yes.. That would be the requirement. So far they have not framed it yet. So we don't know where they are going to go with this. They will try given that this is their only chance implement trumpism. Given that immigration is one of the biggest talking point,  they will pursue this.

I think I already posted this.

Children of H1B parents may be affected if it sees the green light.

But it will be overthrown in the court as per the article I shared earlier.

I see some more news on this. Tbh Modi has done decent job to combat deep state. Don't think it's considerably better than congress. Far too many fissures in India. Now is the time to crush DS

Modi has done jack **** to combat manipur violence.

Their supreme court overthrew abortion rights in 2022. My personal opinion is they won't give 2 shits on this matter affecting a few million immigrants.

Let's see how right or wrong I am.

“It will direct federal agencies to require that at least one parent be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident for their future children to become automatic US citizens.”

So kids of H1B parents get affected.

"The Trump plan suggests no automatic citizenship for children born in the US. This is almost certainly a contravention of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. A Supreme Court judgement is available to counter Trump’s misinterpretation," Rajiv S. Khanna, immigration attorney told TOI.

Yes BJP failed in manipur but the amount of weapons Kuki people got is crazy. They had advanced weapons night vision googles, rocket launchers. This is advanced as the military infantry can get.  If army steps it will be a civil war. A certain country was exporting them through Burma.

Listening to Trump Israel cabinet - Ambassador (Huckabee), SoS  (Rubio) nominees, they seem to be more Zionist than Likud/BB themselves :hysterical:

Muslims that voted trump, voted stein, wrote names in will have a reality check.  Both parties are pro-israel. When are these guys going to realize.
