I don't think BCCI has any role here, the decision to not to travel to Pakistan is completely GOI decision and BCCI cant override that.

 

Many people are using the excuse that since other teams are also travelling, Indian team too should travel. But they are ignoring the fact that India & Pakistan's ties are severed to an unrepairable extent (atleast for a significant amount of foreseeable future). Indian Team is at a greater risk of harm in comparison to other teams and Pakistan's security establishment can't be trusted either.

I think its ...... silly to think that Indian govt ban on cricket in Pakistan is because 'BCCI is getting rich and doesn't know how to use power'.

 

Lets be honest FC - dont overcomplicate a simple thing.  Ind-Pak relations have a 30+ year history of Pak using terrorists to kill Indians. Until those relations improve, its perfectly justified for Indian government to deploy whatever leverage it can to deal with the open issue. If Pakistan feels entitled to 'ban trade', attack India publicly, why is it somehow 'abuse of power' when GoI uses the leverage it has?

If Pakistan wants India  also hosting Pakistan on neutral venues for future tournaments. It is not going to happen. Pakistan is free to skip those world cups when India is the host.

 

If PCB does any dramabaazi , ICC will cancel CT and tell Pakistan to take a walk and organize the future tournaments without Pakistan and will be just fine.

 

Jingoism is not the reason for my statement either. It is the reality, Pakistanis should have realized when they tried to blackmail BCCI about IPL. Now they are begging to be part of IPL but it is of no use. The samething will happen, this time Pakistan will begging to stay in ICC.

 

BCCI has a valid reason , if GOI does not want it to go to Pakistan they cannot go.

Think all the agreements for this this CT25 are already done and rest is all facade-- this is giving too much attention to what was rather a not so important icc-event.

 

If this is nt already settled between BCCI,ICC and PCB then looks like PCB has dug a pit for themselves and are unable to come out of it.

Not sure if PCB thought though what would be their final card on negotiation table. 

 

Most likely PCB are looking for some kind of face saving or salvage some pride out of this right now. If ICC and BCCI do not agree to their demands of doing hybrid for Ind hosted ICC events then what options does PCB have : 1- forfeit Ind match 2- ask to put Ind and Pak in different groups 3- Do not participate in CT25.

 

If after doing all this and still playing hybrid makes no sense, what was pcb's thinking that they will tell there can be no hybrid and everyone will accept it and if this event goes hybrid every event is hybrid ....??

What was pcb putting on bargaining take/what stakes ???--- That broadcaster will have some reduction in their earning -- this is such a naive negotiation final card. Looks like pcb played a weak hand poorly ensuring there is no icc events in future hosted by pcb.

broadcaster can and will re-negotiation the terms there if there is major loss to them, this will hurt icc in return and other boards as they only get the share what icc will get out of these earnings.

I agree with you. However Pakistan is fooling themselves if they think ICC will side with them over BCCI. To make it worst, PCB and Pak fans don't seem to understand the harm they did to themselves by inviting SL and having a shooting freenzy at them. That alone has always put them on a backfoot when trying to negotiate with BCCI. As a cricket fan, I don't really care about the political aspect of ind v pak. I just want to see these two play cricket - espacially bilateral series. 

Can you imagine instead of PAK, let's say BD/SL was in their shoe, would ICC even give it a second thought? Never.

BCCI - Indian players might die if they are sent to play in Pakistan.

 

Maybe Shoaib also meant to say that given how poor Law and order situation is in Pakistan
