Have won T20I series in Aus and SA as well

On Flat tracks and that too against weaker versions of the opposition.

I am not downplaying their achievement, this team is easily the best on normal t20 tracks but there is definitely a scope of improvement on spicier tracks.

The problem is that we cannot assign an anchor role in the modern t20 game anymore so we need someone who can attack but still score on these tracks. With the induction of Vaibhav in the team, this might get solved.

Usually with tours you get practice matches to get adjusted to the conditions..

These being T20s only no oppprtunity to get a feel of the conditions after totally different batting friendly conditions..

So all is not lost however when we are quick to laugh at padosis who also lose to associate nations..

we should criticize our team’s performsnce, selections etc esp when they would like to become an unbeatable side and dominant force

After top order and middle order failures..we clearly lacked firepower in the lower order..

Hapa even though not in his best of form gives that balance..replacement NKR is also not there..

Our strength which made us formiddable:

Gun top order

Attacking MO lead by Sky(during his form)

Good ARs lead by Hapa( late orde power  hitting Pandya and Dube)

Dependable pace bowling lead by Boom

Mystery spinner in the middle(penetration in the middle overs)

These features used to make us a very potent side..and ofc all of these didnt use to click together but 3/5 click still were decent enough to beat any associate nation

Now in this series..most of them didnt click due to misc reasons..4/5 failed

1st T20 top order batting(Abhishek) other failed success 1/5

2nd T20 pace bowling did well success 1/5

so we need to get back to our strength and get to fix and click min 3/5..

else we will keep failing

1st game loss is totally on bowlers actually (Prasadam+ Sundar).  You can assemble best T20I batting unit and they won't chase 180+ in Belfast in those conditions and boundary size and the kind of bowling that Irish did + the fielding was top of shelf.  Athleticism at its finest.

2nd T20I loss is collectively on both batters and bowlers especially spinners.  We again allowed them to hit straight rather than square.

This Iyer is beyond clueless as a captain and tactician

You cannot have one dimensional team , which can even lose to even Ireland on any pitch.

You should not be needing Bumrah to beat Ireland.

I think people are really underestimating the value of SKY is changing the dynamics of the t20 team.Team took off once he became captain.

Our new captain was talking about adapting to conditions to beat Ireland.

I sm not letting go of Iyer..infact he should go..so VS can come in and someone else can be the captain from the team..

Even though you are primarily right in pointing out the cause..I am implying that even with those singled out major failures..

the potential  our team has..if 3/5 of our strengths worked out.. we would still be winning..

in 1st T20- if our bowling 2/5 failed..had batting clicked(3/5) i e opening mo and late order finishing we could still have won with the gun batters we have

2nd T20 it was a chasesble total..we botched up the chase

This is a brutal reality check after domination in 24-26 era that resulted in two World T20 Trophies. I am sad but not heartbroken. These series are just fillers. The new combintaion will fall into place eventually. Have some trust & patience. :isalute:

Looks like not having 360 game is hurting us in overseas. None of the batters can scoop/reverse sweep etc confidently. In 2026, such shots  are still an innovation for them. May be scared of negative comments from senior asshhole commentators like Gavaskar

Also because they get away with it on Indian low bouce flat pitches.
