Or casuals in professional billiards/snooker? Heck, all white policy in Wimbledon is so strictly followed that there shouldn't be black lining even in your socks, band aid, wrist band, heck underwear. Otherwise disqualification. Even cream colour isn't tolerated. Just professionalism, been there for eternity. Carlsen has played these tournaments for last 15 years, he dressed formally in a recent freestyle event. Most likely he rage quit after a horrible day one where he got embarrassed by lower rated players. He was out of medal contention and on course to have his worst finish in this tournament, since forever. He chickened out Gollum 1

Vickydev Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Arjun in trouble against Grischuk, very tricky end game
Vickydev Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Bounces back by bullying Abdusattarov. Just half a point behind with 2 rounds to go Pragg joins him too on 8. He's gone under the radar but a strong win with black
Vickydev Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Murzin with the win against Pragg in a bonkers of a game. That ends the challenge for Pragg Sole leader the 18 yo Ruskie, has had one heck of a tournament. Beaten Caruana, Nakamura, Duda and Pragg
Vickydev Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Humpy wins the Women's event. Women's World Rapid Champion 2024 Another champion in Indian Chess this year. Incredible!!! Vijy and Tillu 1 1

Again based on the position he would have been pumelled by Pragg if that was a Classical game, so maybe it's down to the format but he definitely showed some steel. Vijy 1

randomGuy Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) Woke up today to find out Arjun couldn't win.. created profile at lichess after a long time. named it 'arjunKaBhai' https://lichess.org/@/arjunKaBhai .... reached bullet rating 2000+ in abt 45-50 games of 1+0 time control. Maybe I can reach 2100 which was my 3+0 blitz rating when I deleted profile but who cares. Edited December 29, 2024 by randomGuy Vickydev, Tillu and Vijy 3
Gollum Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Gukesh is meeting PM, state politicians, celebs non-stop. I can only think of Neeraj Chopra post Tokyo gold, which forced him to cancel rest of his season. Wijk aan Zee begins in a couple of weeks time, another felicitation on 5th in Bengaluru, for him and his trainers. Sad part of being a celeb in India. Gukesh though will remain grounded, he isn't like our cricket superstars.....just 18 but more mature/humble than even our retired cricket legends.

Humility is one thing but it'll put extra pressure on him. Should have just met PM and some chess greats
